I saw the surgeon this am and set my surgery date for September 17.  I am really excited and more than a little nervous.  It seems like it took a long time to get to this point and at times I didn't think I would ever actually have a set date.  In reality I just began the process the beginning of June so it hasn't taken that long.  I am to start the Liquid protien diet on September 7.  I am worried about that, and can I stick to it.   I guess I will just have to take it as it comes. 

Been a crazy weekend at my work but I didn't let it interfere with my work-out routine or eating healthy.  Feeling really good that.  I am still learning to deal with that kind of stress without fast food.  I also went to see Alice Cooper in concert without hitting concession stands.  I have an appointment with the surgeon on wednesday, hopefully will set a date for my surgery.  I am nervous about it but anxious to get on with it.  I am surprized daily by the support I get from co-workers, friends , aquaintences, family.  Alot of them, I would have expected to condemn the decision as taking the easy way out.  I guess they either are more open minded than I give them credit for or they know what a futile fight I have been waging. Several family members and co-workers have expressed interest in the procedure.  I continue to be a work in progress.

Insurance stuff finally taken care of and I have an appointment with the surgeon on Wednesday.  I think the idea of having the surgery is finally real.  Up to now it was kind of like another diet or pill or whatever that might help but probably wouldn't.  Now I find myself worrying about whether or not I'll be able to do the prep--the protein drink thing--wondering about pain.  All kinds of things running through my head.  It has been a busy weekend so I haven't had a lot of time to think about it which is probably a good thing.  My work out routine is gradually getting more intense and I am starting to enjoy it.  I will have to add more later, work calling.  On call weekends suck.
