Just over two years out!!

Apr 09, 2009

Well what can I say? The VSG is still the best thing I've ever done for myself!!! I feel great, do things again, go places, and best of all I look great!! LOL.
I eat what I want on weekends and watch what I eat during the week. It works for me. I am still holding at 144-148 pounds. If I get to 148, I watch what I eat for a couple of days and it comes right off. That's the best thing about this surgery, it's so easy to get back on the wagon. I couldn't do that without the vsg. I could always lose it, but once I would start eating the bad foods, I couldn't stop. Now it's easy to stop eating the bad foods!!!!!!! Whoooooooohooooooooo for the vsg!!!!!!!!!!
If you are looking into weightloss surgery, do your research and chose which one is right for you and go for it. You won't be sorry you did.
If I can do anything for anyone, please let me know.

Wow, how time flies!! Fifteen months already. Well, I can tell you, I still say this is the best thing I ever did for myself!!! I love my life, I feel great, and I've been told a time or two I look great. LOL.  If you are not sure about bariatric surgery, do your research, and when you are satisfied, go for it. You will not regret it!!! See you in a few more months.

ONE YEAR SURGEVERSARY

Mar 20, 2008

Where does the time go anymore? It's been one year since I've had my vsg already. I started out weighing 270 pounds and am currently weighing 150 pounds. My goal was to lose 120 pounds and I did that in 9-10 months. I have been off all meds. since the get go. My blood pressure used to be 140 over 90 and higher at times with meds. Now it is 110 over 70 without meds. That is incredible to me. People tell me how great I look all the time. I tell them how great I FEEL!!! Yes, looking good is a big plus, but FEELING GREAT  IS A BIGGER PLUS!!!!! I have my life back!!! I want to do things, I have the energy to do things. My life is sooooooo different now. I get out and do things, go places, see people. Life is great again. I did not have any complications from surgery, thank god. I did follow my eating plan for the most part. I did cheat along the way, but I only let myself cheat twice a week. Now since I'm maintaining, I cheat 3 times a week. It is working for me. When I say cheat, I might have rice, pasta, or something fried. I just try not to do it more than 3 times a week. I surely don't want to put any weight back on. I am very careful. I still get on the scale to see where I am and make sure I am holding steady. I also wanted to let all the newbies here know, I have been through alot the last year. One month after my surgery I lost my brother and his girlfriend in a fire. One month after that, my hubby got in a boating accident and broke his leg serverly, he had two surgeries on his leg and went back in the hospital for blood clots in his lung. This ended the end of July. In July we lost one of our best friends to cancer. In August we lost another very good friend to a massive heart attack. I'm telling the newbies this, to let you know with all this going on in my life, I still managed to lose weight. I still reached my goal in 9-10 months. I honestly believe I would have gained so much weight without this surgery, going through all this, as I am a stress, and bored eater. This surgery has helped me in more ways than one. If you are considering having the vsg, do it!!!!! It will be the best thing you have ever done for yourself and your loved ones. I cannot say enough great things about this surgery.

Six months have past since my surgery and OMG I can not say enough great things about it. I want to scream it to the world. I tell everyone who wants to listen about the great VSG. I am healthier, happier and feel better than I have in god know's how long. I not only feel better but I look better too. It amazes me that I still feel big, but yet when I look in the mirror, I am alot smaller. I don't feel big in the way of doing things, I just don't remember that I am alot smaller than I use to be. It's hard to explain, but you'll understand when it happens to you. If you are still deciding to have this surgery or not, do it, you will not reqret it. This is still the best thing that I will ever do for myself !!!!!!!!!

Well, it's been 6 weeks since my vsg and I am down 42 lbs. Still eating too fast. I am trying to slow down but it's hard. I know I will get there soon. I love my vsg and do not regret doing it. I am happier, healthier, and have more energy than I've had in a long time.
