Starting to make plans...

Feb 29, 2020

Less than four weeks pre-op.  REALLY looking forward to this.

I have concerns, but they're mostly related to my post-op support structure.  True, my wife had the exact same surgery in 2004, and she's still 100+ lbs down, but she doesn't exactly have healthy eating habits.  Her favorite food is frozen Stouffer's spaghetti with meat sauce with extra cheese on top, and her favorite restaurant is Famous Dave's.  I've been trying to help us (both) eat healthier, and she does agree to eat - and frequently says she likes - what I fix.  But left to her own devices, she falls back to her lifelong poor eating habits.  So from MY perspective, I can't really consider her to be part of any support mechanism for my lifelong WLS journey.  She's STILL coming to me and trying to push fried foods, candy, cookies, and the like, which I find very hard to resist (not because I can't resist the FOOD, but I find it difficult to say no to HER.  So my #1 concern is that, in order to safely insulate myself from improper FOOD, I'm going to have to insulate myself from MY WIFE.

Don't like that thought at all.  We're a team, through thick and thin.  Lord help me to stay close to her and still manage my food intake.
