Austin Surgical Hospital

"I had downloaded and completed the patient forms prior to my procedure, as I was out of town and could not have a one-on-one interview---but the hospital told me I couldn't send them in. The nurse did the nursing eval over the phone. I had to be at the hospital at 5am---only to complete the very same forms that I had done previously and was told I couldn't use. After completing those forms (which took 5 minutes), I sat for 1.25 hours before they even came to take me back. THAT was a bit ridiculous, in my opinion! However, the staff members and nurses were very nice and attentive, and I felt like I was being well taken care of. There was a VERY VERY loud, obnoxious and noisy patient next to me in the pre-op area and I wish the nurses had told her to tone it down, but that really isn't their fault. The only other complaint I have is that they did not give me ANY printed discharge directions. They had me sign something while in recovery, but I didn't realize until I got home that I didn't have a copy for myself. "

Sashidhar Ganta

"Dr. Ganta and his staff at Austin Institute of Bariatrics and Laparascopy were absolutely amazing! I have never had any doctor be so caring and truly concerned about his patient. Dr. Ganta was honest, detailed and comprehensive, and very conservative regarding my aftercare instructions. I have no doubts that he will do everything he can to help me succeed with this lap-band, and in return, I will do everything exactly as he instructed. I would never hesitate to refer anyone to him---he is fantastic!"
