About me Well i am 36 years old . I am happily married,I have three amazing girls 17,15,8 . I have always been overweight. I can remember in grade school being sent to the nurse because i was so heavy the nurse was very nice and whenever the picking on got to much i could always go hide there. She taught me what i should be eating and we had weekly weigh ins. None of it work i Lived in a hell hole of a family and we all used food to escape..but i could never tell her that..
Fast forward through many years and many weight loss trials and errors.
About 9 years ago i was working as a cook( i've been a cook all my lifeI mean really what else would i do??)and I really was at my heaviest.. My back started hurting so bad i just could'nt do it anymore.. I found out i was pregnant blamed the back pain on that and quit my job.. i did'nt see the back weight connection till many years later.I am a very active person and luckily my weight up until recently has not harbored any of that activity,
after I had my youngest the weight just packed on.. and so did the pain. i started seeing all sorts of specialists finally the back surgeon.. TAa dahh you have spinal stenosis. Which is a fancy way of saying your vertebra have cracks in them from bareing so much weight. it is slipping forward and pinching your sciatic nerve. Woohoo then i almost blackedout when he started talking about fusing vertabre together....
That when i really made up in my mind that this was something i at least needed to try. My mom had a gastric bypass. so i sorta had a point of reference. I need to loose weight if i wanted to be the active person i so wanted to be. I miss being with my kids going for walks with my husband. being able to go to a park and not make everyone stop so i can catch my breath..
I'm very lucky to have so much support but it's still such a hard road i hope i get through this ok.. Time will tell i suppose. But thanks for taking the time to read about me and my problems
