2 Month Surgiversary

Jan 26, 2009

It was 2 months yesterday and I am elated to say that I am officially down 52 pounds.  YAY.  I have had 2 major stalls so far.  I had the typical week 3 stall which conincided with having to take prednisone for an allergic reaction. My other 2 week stall started at week 6 and ended at the beginning of week 8.  I get so discouraged when I hit a stall and then I come on here and post how discouraged I am and you all make me feel all better.

My typical menu for a day:
Morning: Fried egg and 2 pieces of bacon
Lunch:  Usually left over chicken from the previous night.  If not,  deli turkey rolled with cheese.  Pizzas made with low carb tortillas.
Dinner: Chicken, Shrimp, Scallops, Pork Loin, occasionally beef.  All prepared with lawrys seasoning, old bay, garlic , garlic infused olive oil, grilled, or sauteed alone.
Snack:  I was snacking on nuts but someone here said that may be cause of my stalls so I cut those out.  I now snack on sugar free jello and pudding, cheese sticks, Atkins Low Carb Bars.
Drinks:  99% of the time it is water.  For a change of pace I drink unsweetened Kool Aide.  Just because sometimes you have to have a little change.

Exercise:
We joined Anytime Fitness this past weekend.  We worked out for an hour on Sunday and then our son got sick on Monday so for the past two days I have been hitting the Wii Fit.

Results:
I started in a TIGHT 24.  I am now in a 20 sometimes an 18 depending on what it is and how it's made.  I can now buy shirts in the regular sized stores.  They have to be XXL's but I can walk into a regular store and try on clothes.  Who cares if it's the biggest size they sell?????  I tried on pants at Old Navy.  They 18 would button and zip but I couldn't breath,  But still just knowing that I could get in them is cool!
A few weeks ago I cleaned out my closet and dresser and gave away 120 items of clothing that was too big.  No turning back now!
I can tie my shoes by putting my leg on top of my other leg.  I can bend over without losing my breath.

Energy:
I can clean my house without having to take a break.  Before it took me 2 days to clean my house.  I cleaned downstairs one day and the upstairs the next.
I climb the steps without huffing and puffing.

Body Changes:
I thought I was flabby before.  It has gotten worse.  I have pretty much come to terms that I will never wear a bikini again but I am really working on my legs because I have to wear shorts and some sort of bathing suit.
Unfortunantely my bras have had to go down one cup size.  EEK!  My husband hates this.

There are times during the stalls where I think I shouldn't have done this and I want the 10k back.  But then I start losing and it is all worth it and I realize how stupid it is to ever regret it.  I just am so afraid that I will be the one person VSG doesn't work for.

So we are 2 months out and we are doing and feeling great.

Thanks for reading this!
Brooke
