Two Week Post Op: Melting, Exited and Nervous

Jan 12, 2012

Okay, I am now two weeks post op and I feel great! I can see the weight melting. I have lost 28 pounds so far.  I lost ~ 16 pounds during the two weeks of the liquid diet and then another 10 or so since the surgery.
Dr. Garth Davis was amazing and totally professional.

I did have a hiccup in my progress. I started an African Fussion Dance class (high intensity cardio) last Wednesday and did not eat breakfast before my workout. I was having a hard time eating foods and feeling too full when I wanted to go for my daily walks with my children in the morning, so I had decided to eat after my walk. It just so happened that I also decided to go to my African Fusion class. The hiccup was that I almost fainted around 2 hours later. I believe that my blood pressure had droped too low (I have since cut my medication in half after visiting with my PCP).

The drop in bloop pressure is a good thing, but hard to manage when you are losing weight. So, I am returning to my PCP next week to follow up on the test results.

It is wonderful to see myself melting away, or should I say, revealing my true self. I am exited by what I see, but also still nervous about whether I will really be able to reach my goal weight. I am going to keep the faith. I see other's successes on this sight and am inspired to continue.
One thing I really miss, with this smaller stomach, is that I cannot gulp down water. I am still learning how to sip. I am always feeling thirsty. I have always loved to dring water, and now, if I drink too fast, I get a pain in my chest.

I hope your journey is just as amazing and wonderful.
