5 Years out!!!!
Nov 23, 2013
OH my Gosh, almost 5 years out from my RNY..I can say I am still enjoying life and love my RNY......I am doing great labs still great still in a size 3-4
I have to Thank God for the wonderful success I have had. NO one can make it alone...He has always been there with me...My husband, family and friends have always been behind me 100% thru my journey
I can play with my grandkids, walk with out hurting, climb stairs and just plain enjoy the simple things in life....
If you were thinking of getting this surgery....go for it....you will have to follow what your Dr says don't try to over do it.....it is one of the best things I have done in my life...
3 1/2 years out
Jun 14, 2012
I exercise every day....still eating great and getting plenty of fluids....my Labs are wonderful
Since my RNY in 2008, 6 of my friends have had the surgery..4 are doing wonderful and the 5th one is going back for a reversion..the reason she needs it is do to the fact she still tried to eat like she did before the surgery and lost site of her goal.
the 6 th one had LAP BAND..( I asked her why and she said she could control what she eats...)...Well it didn't work for her
so she is getting her RNY soon...so we need to support all of our fellow weight loss family any way we can...be there when they call to ask questions..we are all in this together and if it had not been for the support of my sister Melody and my friend Janith and the loving support from my wonderful Husband Lou ...I might not have made it.....THANKS TO EVERYONE...
My journey is not over ... had tummy tuck in 2010 and now waiting on my boob job...
who every said grandma can't be sexy is wrong....
God Bless Everyone

One year out!!!
Dec 18, 2009
I have lost over 100 lbs and feel great, People ask me if I would do this again and I always tell they "YES"
It has not been easy but anything worth having is not always easy....
I still have to watch what I eat,,,can't eat hamburger, chicken, hot dogs, rice..but I really don't miss them
I can eat fish and salads, woo hoo, fresh fruit and soups, so I am quite happy with my decision.
I was told to sip, sip, sip, chew chew chew,,,drink 64 oz of water a day , 80 gmsof protein,,,I still do that, I love my water now,,,lol
My husband goes with me clothes shopping and he does picks out my clothes now,,,he says he knows what looks good on me ,,,and he is right,,,,...from a size22-24 to a size 8....wow what a difference a year makes
My labs are great,,,no high blood pressure, no high cholestoral, my knees don't hurt..(woohoo)
I do cancer walks, heart walks and what ever comes up,,,I am there, i enjoy walking and my husband joins me, we do so much together now, before I never wanted to do anything, just sit.
Please if you are having second thoughts ,,,don't it is worth every minute of the journey, email me at [email protected] and we can talk...
My sister Melody had her surgery in oct '08 and has lost over a 100 lbs also, she is loving her RNY too...lol
Some ppl say they like their food too much,,,and don't want to give it up...you don't have to ..I can still everything I want only I watch what I eat and exercise
God Bless everyone and I hope and pray that you have a great journey like mine.

go to the gym with my friends and am learning Bellydancing and Zumba can already see the difference
I have had stalls but going to the gym and getting my protein in helps
Thanks to my best friend Janith and another friend bernadette I am able to make it though all this
