Dec 30, 2020

I am 68 years old, and have had Type 2 Diabetes for several years. The insulin amounts injected just keep increasing in spite of me trying to lower my sugar readings, and my doctor told me she doesn’t want to increase them any longer and has no idea what to do for me. I asked her about bariatric surgery, because I heard it may help. She agreed, and we took the steps necessary to find a surgeon and I attended the meeting and have gone through all the preliminary tests, seen the psychologist, and saw the dietician a few times. At my initial meeting with the dietician I was weighed and my weight noted. The following month I was weighed, and had GAINED 15 pounds! Then THIS month I was weighed and had LOST SEVENTEEN pounds! This is how it has been for me my entire life; huge weight swings, but hopefully this is going to be the beginning of the end of this nightmare. I am going to continue doing the best I can to get things under control, including this diabetes, and improve my health. I am looking forward to living a long, healthy life when all is said and done.
