Jan 20th - Personal Trainer
Jan 20, 2008
I am finally walking most days - only about a mile. On Wed I will meet with a fitness trainer for the first time!! I am keepting this promise to myself - thisis a lifetime change, so I may as well get at it.
It is so good to walk 1 to 2 miles and feel good afterwards. I am liking the new me. A size 14 takes me back 10 years. A size 16 takes me back about 5 years. I am really loving the new clothes.

Dec 11th - 3 Months - 51 lbs down
Dec 11, 2007
I am 3 months out from RNY, 51 lbs lost and down from a sz. 20 to 16s. I feel lighter and most important healthier. I haven't had any major back problems since the surgery.
With every pound lost comes hope that I can do this. I am now 220.5 lbs and want to achieve 199 lbs as my first goal. It will really be nice to get to one anything again. Ultimately, I will arrive at 165 lbs to maximize my future health and well being.
The life adjustments have not been hard; however, admittedly I am going to have to start exercising. I am already starting to see the weight loss slow down. I get especially frustrated around my cycle when I always seem to find a few pounds. The good news is they dissapear afterwards.
So my focus this month, meaning my promise to myself, is to drink enough water and begin to walk even if it is for a short duration.
I have been dilagent about my vitamins and watching my quantity of food.
I must say WLS was the right decision for me. I know I still have a long road ahead; however, I am already starting to see the life changes and healthier choices. For me, WLS was never about getting my old look back, it was about getting a healthier me back and doing what I needed to do to ensure my longevity to the best of my ability. It is still baby steps, but I can already see the results of a healthier me.
Hugs,
Lisa

First Visit Down
Jun 19, 2007
Hello All! I went to my first visit yesterday (6/18/07) to get my doctor, nutrition and mental health evaluation. After each portion I was told they have all they need and believe I am a good candidate for RNY. They are currently scheduling surgeries for August. Next steps are to get approved officially by the team and the much tougher task of getting approved by the insurance. I have been assured that BC/BS of NC is pretty easy to work with. I will keep you all posted. For now, I am glad the visit is behind me. I have every plan to begin weight loss and exercise to prep myself for surgery. Keep your fingers and toes crossed for me (Prayers and positive energy graciously accepted!).
Hugs,
Lisa
