Let’s see…… I always have a hard time trying to say anything about myself on a blog on a profile. I think I am more or a talker than a writer. Anyhow, my name is Shayna originally from Isabella Puerto Rico; I just had a Birthday May 24th and have been considering WLS since April of this year. I have been divorced for 4yrs and have 3 wonderful children and I must say that I have been so blessed to have them in my life. I am not scared of surgery I had a breast reduction 3 yrs ago and it was the best thing I had ever done because I was having so many problems with my upper back. I am walking into WLS the same way. I have been having trouble with my weight for the past 10 yrs since my last baby. I use to be able to drop pds so easily. I figure that 2008 will be a rebirth for the new Shayna. My story may be like so many others I don’t eat the right foods and all though I don’t eat a lot it seems as if I eat one bite and gain 5 pds. I like those hoodia slimquick commercials where the wife and the husband are standing there and they stop drinking soda and he got skinny and the only ting she lost was her boobs that is so me. Lol It’s like I don’t have a metabolism anymore. I was trying to work out at the beginning of the yr and for 3months didn’t see any improvement. Quit cause I was frustrated. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and even though they say working out helps the pain I have not discovered the truth in that yet. So I am just beginning my journey thru drs appts, and groups and dealing with insurance. I didn’t have a problem with my insurance when I got my breast reduction I had UCare at the time. Everything went very smoothly. I still have UCare so we will see what happens. I am in the health care industry and have worked with insurance for 11yrs so I know sometimes trying to get the approval from your health care provider can be an issue or a delay in the new you.
