I am 46 years old.  For as long as I can remember I have battled my weight.  As I have gotten older I have put more weight on.  I have reached my limit.  I can't stand it any longer.  Like all of us I tried all the new diets.  For the most part they worked for about 15 to 20 pounds.  Exercise was something that was easier before I fell down my stairs.  I have a pinched nerve between L4 & L5 of my vertebraes which makes my left leg painful and go numb.  My doctors say I will feel better after I lose the weight.  I sure hope so.  That is one of the many reasons I am going forward with this surgery.  I have 1 natural daughter who is 24 years old.  She just made me a grandma in November.  I have 3 step children, an 18 year old daughter, a 16 year old son, and a 14 year old daughter.  I am married to the best husband ever!  He is my 4th husband and he is just amazing!  He is very supportive.  I have 4 brothers and 2 sisters.  For the most part my family is supportive as well.  One of my sisters does not like me having this surgery and is very scared.  She makes me scared.  I love to go camping and we ride our quads in the mountains here in Colorado.  I am looking forward to longer rides.  Because of my current condition I start to hurt about an hour into my rides.  That makes me sad because the beautiful scenery is something I love to get out and see.    I have 5 dogs.  I love them all but I have one who is my baby.  He is a 10 pound Shi Tzu.  My vets think he is more of a Brussel Griffon.  Don't know if I spelled that right.  Anyway we almost lost him this past summer.  He had a disease called Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia (IMHA).  He had numerous blood transfusions and was in the hospital for over a week.  Yes he is our million dollar puppy.  I am looking forward to a better quality of life.  I still am very very scared about this surgery and the risks.  At times I want to not do this.  I am struggling more as I get closer to my surgery date.  I try to keep thinking about all the positive things such as getting off my medications, being able to breath without a mask blowing air down my nose, being able to walk up the stairs without blacking out (just kidding, it feels like it though), and seeing my new grandson graduate from college, get married and give me a great grandchild!
