New Year...New Me

I want to get better at this whole blog thing. I figured out how to post a couple of pictures and i want to track my progress that way as well.
I had my surgery on 11/17 and have been blessed with a very uneventful/ no complication's post operative period. My sister's went with me to the hospital and were wholly supportive which i am very thankful for. I had done quite alot of research on the band and have a friend who has one, but still there were some post operative surprises for me..first of all i just assumed that i would never be able to eat volumn of food again..WRONG...i did very well in the immediate post operative period for the first few weeks.....then....CHRISTMAS happened and i fell off the diet wagon....not to the degree that the old me would have...but I have definatley pushed the limits and have experienced some of the same failure feelings that i hoped to never experience again...Naive of me i realize now.
I have my first fill on 1/7 and am so looking forward to it. I anticipate a weight gain or having stayed the same at the appointment and have prepared myself for that.
I have done quite alot of thinking about the kind of LapBander i want to be...
1. I want to love myself .....especially when i struggle.
2. I want to not think about food all the time.
3. I want to be an honest and supportive part of OH.
4. I want to be able to eat normally like an average weight person does with nothing off limits and everything in moderation.
5. I want to lose this weight for the last time in my life, with the understanding that i may gain sometimes...just like normal people do....but that it will be in the amount that they do...not the amount that my history has shown.
6. I want to ride a bike and do yoga.
7. I want to sit comfortably in the airplane seat.
8. I want to not binge.
9. I want the band to be part of my life but not consume my life.
10. I want to be out living life...not watching others do so on TV.
That is enough for now...i hope to add to this list as i go along.
