Hi Sheri - I also had the lap BPD/DS procedure with Dr. Herron recently. My surgery was on October 1st. I am sorry to hear that you had some trouble with infections. I hope things improve quickly for you. I was lucky and had no problems at all. So far I have been able to eat without feeling nauseous but I haven't found a protein supplement(drink) that I like yet. How are you doing with your supplements ( protein, adek's, etc)? You also mentioned not having a pleasant hospital experience...what happened? I guess I was lucky there too. My daughter had surgery twice in the last 12 months at Mt. Sinai and had some horrible experiences but everything seemed to have worked nicely for me. It will be exciting for us to follow eachothers progress....who knows, we may even meet at one of our post-op check-ups! Best of luck to you....I'm sure that you're as relieved as I am that we made it through the surgery!!
