6 months post op and SOOOO Happy

Sep 11, 2007

Well- I truly thought I would never see the 180's again in my adult life! Today I weigh 187lbs, weighing size 12's and mediums comfortably, down 2 ring sizes and have simply incredible energy! I have lost 59 lbs so far and I am pleased with the progress.I am averaging 5-7 lbs of wt loss  per month and both my suregon and nut. are happy. I can easily walk 4 miles and actually enjoy doing so....I LOVE MY BOWFLEX!!!! Best investment of this journey- has made such a difference with muscle tone.My BMI is now in the 28-29% range and my goal is 24%. So far, the surgery and it's outcome has surpassed my expectations. I do want to stress- FOR SUCCESS- you
MUST exercise! It is not a choice, but a necessity! I have finally wrapped my brain around that concept and realize how much better it makes me feel.

Thanks for stopping by for an update.
Love all my pals on OH! Ya'll know who you are and you are so dear to me!

Onederland feels WONDERFUL!

I am less than 4 month post op and this week I broke my 1st platuea- I had been stuck at 200.2 to 200.6 for close to 3 weeks. I increased my fluids, decreased my food and hit 198.4 on 6/13/07 and then 196lbs on 6/14/07. I have not weighed below 200lbs in 14 yrs. It feels great! I hope Dr. Bauman comprehends just how much he changes and improves his patients lives. I felt very emotional when the scales finally dipped below 200 and very blessed to have such a gifted surgeon. I know without a doubt, I would have never seen 198 without my LapBand. I did take a picture of my feet on the scales and I plan to post it on my refrig. as a constant reminder that I will never see 200lbs again. I plan to work this Band and the Band  is working for me!

Completed pre-op requirements

Less than 1 month after meeting with Dr Bauman, I have completed a;; my pre-op's and he has reviewed and signed off on them. So sitting, oh so very impatiently, waiting for my surgery date! Being a florist, I will get incredibly busy for the next 2 weeks- maybe that will help temper my patience??? I am currently drinking protein shakes for breakfast and much lunches, trying to aclimate to the protein shakes. I can't imagine waking up pre-op without lready preparing the body and mind ( my surgeon does not require pre-op liquid diet). I am currently down 13lbs from my highest wt, so trying to stay focused while waiting.
Love you guys on this sight- your experiences, knowledge and trails sure help when in this pre-op stage.

Another reason for wt loss surgery.....

Today I went for my pre-op mammo. Never had any problems in the past- but today was a little different. Every time she made a boob sandwich in the right side there was a "crease"- we took 5 films of the right sister before finally getting one without a "crease" of fat....I told her next year she will be hunting for the sisters, cuz they will be much smaller and no fat folds.....Its funny how God talks to us on this journey- encouraging us to make the changes to get our bodies healthy. I sure got today's message.....yet another reason to proceed to WLS and renewed health and fitness.....
