Hello, my name is Jeannie and my story begins about 11 years ago when I got pregnant like many of us, I gained some major weight.  Fast forward to today, I am a chronic asthmatic and recently was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus. Add an extra dose of chronic join pain to that and it’s a terrible recipe.  I have been in and out of the hospital with asthma and the medication only spirals my diabetes out of control. I believe this was my wake up call. It’s was one thing to live with asthma but to live with diabetes. This was a task that was too big for me handle. I have never had any issues from being a big girl. I didn’t consider myself big or fat. I was voluptuous and curvy and sexy in my own way. I am really free spirited. I love to travel and do something new each time.   But here is the thing. There comes a point where you whole heartily want to do something and your body says ….HOLD ON, WHERE ARE YOU GOING? ARE YOU KIDDING, YOUR NOT DOING THAT. All this compiled with being recently diagnosed with diabetes, well I finally decided in November of 2010 that this was it. I needed to do this for my health, for me, and for my family.
