October 1, 2009 I made contact with a local bariatric surgeons office. I expressed my interest in the surgery etc. They mailed me this packet of paperwork to fill out and return. The packet contained a 12 step process from the initial 1st consultation to getting approved for surgery. Naturally, I thought this will be a piece of cake, but boy was I wrong! It's a journey!
October 12, 2009 attended my first support group meeting 6pm to 7pm
October 27, 2009 First initial meeting with my surgeon 2:45pm - 5:45pm
November 3, 2009 Nutrition Eval 2pm - 4pm $200 cash payment only accepted
November 10, 2009 2nd Nutrition Eval with test 2pm -4pm
November 11, 2009 Blood work, thyroid, cholesterol, pylori testing, blood pressure
November 20, 2009 Psych Eval 4pm - 6pm
November 24 Psych Eval with test 4pm 6:30pm
December 15, 2009 Surgeon's office call to schedule appointment to discuss surgery date, insurance, etc.
This appointment is scheduled for 1/26/10 @ 3:40pm Yes!
December 21, 2009 Psych Evaluation approval letter received! Yes!
January 26, 2010 I met with the surgeon. I was told I had to loose at least 15lbs before having surgery and I was told my insurance was going to require a 6 month diet. Why didn't I know this prior to this visit
February 1, 2010 I changed my primary insurance carrier to be my secondary and got on my work policy as my primary.
March 10, 2010 Surgeons office: They refiled my insurance and I was approved to have surgery on 4/27/10
