"Dr Opie is very nice and patient. His staff is very kind and supportive. This was important to me. I know that the Staff will be important later on after surgery. rnHe does expect you to be committed to coming to group once a month not only to help yourself but to help others. rnHe has a once a month informational meeting that is MANDATORY if you wish to become one of his patients. He discusses the risks. as of now he has done 156 RNY surgeries and no deaths. rnDecide that you will be a bariatric patient for the rest of your life.. kind of like if you have asthma.. you go to a specialist and follow up with them..for the rest of your life.rnI am still pre op so I will add more later.rnHe has a great website that you are expected to download a document and that is your \"book\" that he refers you to. It's a great guide! rn"
