14 Day Liquid Diet Starts 2morrow! Boo!!!!!

Oct 13, 2008

Alright friends, yall know I am going to need some prayer to get through these next 14 days of the liquid diet.  I don't have a problem dieting, however, it is those medifast shakes, soups, puddings etc. that I am not looking forward to.  I know the first 2-3 days will be the hardest  because I believe ones body goes through something when you first begin a regimen of this magnitude, however, I am ready.

I will keep you guys posted as to how I am doing and don't forget to lift me up in prayer on 10/28.  Thanks!

Talk to you guys later.

Had my preop appointment today

Oct 03, 2008

Hey everybody,

Well today I was at my surgeons office for 4 hours for my pre-op appointment with my husband.  I lost another 5 pounds, so I am 16 pounds down before even starting the 14 day liquid diet, which starts on 10/13.  I am not looking forward to it, however, my surgeon, the nut, and the exercise physiologist explained in great detail today why the 14 day liquid diet is so important.  My surgeon also went over ALL OF THE RISKS AND POSSIBLE COMPLICATIONS OF SURGERY.  Boy did he scare the xcc&?? out of me.  However, I am still having the surgery.  I know that I am covered by the blood of JESUS and I have faith that I am going to come out victorious.  I have a few things left to do prior to surgery.  Monday I have fasting blood work that I most get done and I have to pick up my prescriptions for the antibiotics to take 1 day before surgery, the surgery prep cloths for my skin and the heparin shots along with my Loritab Elixir scripts to pick up.  I must admit I am getting quite excited and nervous at the same time, but I have to remember that FEAR AND FAITH CAN'T SHARE THE SAME SPACE.  I will keep you guys posted as to how I am doing with the 14 day liquid diet.  It starts on 10/13.  Until next time, Peace!

Have my surgery date!!!!

Oct 01, 2008

Hey my friends,

I received a call from my surgeons office this morning at around 9 a.m.  I was told that my surgery date will be Tuesday, October 28, 08 and that I should be at Good Samaritan Hospital at 5:30 a.m.  I am soooooo very excited, yet nervous at the same time, but I know that fear and FAITH can't share the same space, so therefore, I am going to be prayed up and know that God can and God will.

Well that's all for right now.  I have my pre-op appointment on Friday 10/3 and my husband will be joining me for this appointment.  I will update you guys on Friday.

Next Appointment October 3rd

Sep 25, 2008

OK.  I am starting to get really anxious and ready to have the surgery and start my new life.

I am so excited but yet I am a little scared, but I read some where that says "fear and faith can't share the same place", so that is what I am keeping in my head and my mind, so that I can keep a positive attitude and outlook.  GOD is in control and he is the captain of this ship.  He will bless and deliver.

I will let you guys know how this appointment goes.  At the last appointment I had lost a total of 12.2 pounds so I know I haven't lost that much this time, but I am hoping for another 5 pounds off.

Gastric Bypass WON!

Sep 18, 2008

OK, I doing the GB.  Since I am going to have surgery, I might as well have the one that is going to be the most benefical to me because Lord knows I don't want to do it again.  With that said, after talking it over with my husband and praying to the Most High Matchless GOD, I have decided to do GB.  I will be calling my surgeons nurse today and have her contact my insurance company and get it switched.  I will let you guys know the update.

Thanks to all of my friends for their supportive responses.  It really helped in my decision.

Much love and blessings!

Praises to the Most High!

Sep 18, 2008

Hello my friends,

I came home today from running errands and looked in the mailbox and saw a letter from Wellmark, my health insurance provider.  Now you know I was nervous as all get out, but of course I had to open it.

Well, praise GOD, I received my approval to have my surgery!  Yeah!

Now here is the catch.  When I first went to Dr. Rosen in August, I told him that I wanted the lapband procedure, however, when I went back to my second visit in September, I changed my surgery to the gastric bypass.  Well, his staff (whom I love) submitted my paperwork to the insurance as lapband and that is what I am approved for.

Now, when I called his staff, I was informed that they will call the insurance company and see if they can change it to gastric bypass.  OK here is the major problem.  I only switched to gastric bypass because I wanted to get the weight off at a much faster pace, however, I was always nervous about getting the GB procedure done.  Now I am in a dilemna because I just don't know what to do.

I told the staff that I will pray on the situation tonight and let them know in the morning.  I am so confused.
