Going through preliminaries

Hello all.

 I've begun my journey and am waiting for approval from my insurance.  I'm sooo excited about the new life I'm embarking upon.  This is something that I've been wanting to do for a few years and each time I made the decision to have the surgery, I allowed others to talk me out of it.  I've gotten to the point to where I need to so whatever it takes for me to live a better and happier life.  Does anyone have any suggestions about preparing for the surgery?  At this point, I expect to have my surgery within the next 2-3 months.
