I've got a date
Dec 31, 2008
I've got a date finally January 20th I will be banded. I have waited over 2 years for this. At first it was because I was worried about changing insurance with my husbands health but I finally did it and it took 6 very long months to go through pre-op get approved and a date. I can't wait to start getting closer to being a normal sized person. I feel like I could dance, twirl and turn cartwheels all at the same time right now.

I'm finally approved

I know I've had less of a wait than others but the 6 months I've been waiting have been long for me. I truly wish I would be able to have surgery before the end of the year but realistically doubt it. That will be okay though as I would like to be down to 290 before surgery then lose 100 pds in a year. Then anything after that would just be icing on the cake. I see all these pictures of people that have lost so much and get to 150 and less and find it hard to believe that could be me. I haven't been under 150 since high school. Like so many others I thought I was fat then but now would kill to be that size.

Oh since this is my first blog I guess I should also introduce myself. I'm a mother to 2 grandmother to 4 and wife to 1. The last few years have been not the best in my life. I've had 2 partial knee replacements. My husband had a back surgery that left him unable to walk or feed himself. (he has regained these abilities but still has to use a walker.) During this time I managed to regain 110 pds that I had lost on weight watchers. When I realized what I had lost in 18 month I had regained in 24 months was a very low point for me. At that time I realized I needed to focous on myself for a while and decided that I needed WLS surgery in order to enable me lose weight and keep it off so here I am.
