This year I turned 40.  Big changes for me this year!  Husband retired after 25 years active duty Navy,  we moved to CA, our son went on his first deployment to the middle east,  we are currently building a home, I walked away from my job with the government after 15 years, and I went back to college!

Whew.... Now add considering weight loss surgery to that long list of changes!  Shakin' it up a bit at 40!  ;-)

I have been overweight my entire life.  I come from a long line of overweight people..... recently I had some deaths in my family and they were only in their 50's.  All weight related deaths.

I realized now that we are back in the US (been stationed overseas the last 8 years)  it is my time.  I have watched 6 different friends go through various weight loss surgeries with much success.  The decision to move forward with WLS has been on my mind for the last 8 years......

The more I read and talk to people about VSG, the more I know this is the surgery for me.  Depending on insurance,  we will see how long this process takes - I may have to go to a MTF to get the sleeve,  but am willing to do what it takes.
