Hmm.... where to start.... As far as I can remember I've been a heavy child since elementary school. I loved riding my bike around the yard and to the corner store. I played outside alot with my cousins, cut grass, and did alot of outdoor things with my father. Its not like I wasn't active maybe just not active enough. I remember being in PE and having to run laps only to not finish and spend the rest of the period walking while everyone else played. Its funny because my childhood best friend and I both shared the bond of being overweight at that time. As we progressed to middle school I was still overweight but as some people say 'I carried it well'. Issues with self esteem as well as my health began to take a toll on my well being. I was diagnosed with PCOS at 14. Because I failed to realize what I was doing to my body and what was actually going on I continued my relationship with my favorite carby foods.  I tried out for cheerleading, volleyball, and softball and didn't make either. I gave up trying to fit in and digressed into my own world. I was best friends with the most popular girl in my grade and took confidence of staying in the background. High school...hmm I was still overweight but no one really commented since 'thick' girls were in. I tried slimfast, diet pills and I'd go weeks only eating once a day and it didn't change anything. I did interact more I just never really found my niche. My mom was strict so school dances and games were out of the question really until my senior year. Now that I'm older and have a far better understanding of pcos and learning about proper nutrition I hold myself accountable and try to make better decisions. I hate the fact that this pcos has been hanging over my head and has been for so long.I wanted and needed to try something different for a bigger change. So I decided to undergo RNY I have no official regrets other than I wish I had the opportunity to do it much sooner. But hey I'm a work in progress <3
