Wow I cant believe in less than a week I will hit my four year mark.
A lot has happened in 4 years, but the best thing is I'm maintaining my weight. I have added a more muscle but I'm still in my size 12.
This journey has had some ups n downs but not many downs with the surgery.
I must say I still have to watch try to eat fast to keep up with everyone else and I still have a problem with sugars.
I had the best piece of lemon cake ever on Saturday and minutes later felt like I was about to pass out. I tried to sleep it off but was too busy. I broke out in a sweat followed by drowsiness and then finally throwing up to get that sugar out of my system was the only thing that worked.
I exercise. Love Zumba and hip hop abs. I love being me and this new life. But the best thing is that I'm healthy.
Hope all those who had surgery around the same time as me are still doing well.
My 3 year mark is approaching

Feb 14, 2011
It's been a while since I've been on here. I must tell you first off that this is the best decision I could have ever made.
I am so happy and although I am still between 185 and 190 with about 15lbs to go.
For those of you who know my history, you know that I also had my hip replaced last April and has been almost a year since that.
I am having the best time of my life. Thanking God most of all for bringing me through this.
I love my family and friend so much for sticking by me for this last year.
I MUST SAY IT AGAIN......I FEEL GGGGRRRRREEEEEAAAAATTTTT!!!!!
Peace and blessings!!!!
1 year anniversary September 16, 2010

I may not be on here on my surgiversary date . I'm gonna summarize all that has gone on since my preparation for surgery until now.
On July 3rd while preparing for my surgery, I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis in my hip. I changed my surgery at that time from lap band, to gastric because while preparing for one surgery, I had to also get weight off my hip, and prepare for that.
On September 16, 2009, I had gastric bypass surgery and the more weight I lost the more my hip hurt (which was the opposite of what the docs said), but I had to wait months because now I'm out time.
My confidence level hit rock bottom, and I think I was leaning towards depression and needing to go see a therapist.
I started losing weight and looking good, but still needed this cane to get around. On April 23, 2010, I get a total hip replacement. What was supposed to be a good thing was not so good for me. I had some challenges after surgery with some nerve damage. Well here goes a little more of my confidence. Lord when does it get better I prayed? I probably even asked "why me Lord."
We I must tell you that as of today I have lost at total of 150lbs, and although I have not reached my personal goal, I have reached my personal goal, because any weight loss is a goal reached.
I am working out and walking. My hip is doing great and I am full of energy. I start to when I write this. I thank God he has healed me and if asked would I do anything differently, I would just say I would have taken better care of my body and health.
I told you all of this to tell you that if you are planning on having wls surgery, it is one of the best choices I have ever made in my life. I have no complaints about what I have been through. Just wanted to share that there always a light at the end of the tunnel if you keep the faith, and believe.
I have to also thank some very important people in my life.
1st of all God because he answered every prayer.
My husband for being there through the good and bad.
My mother who put off having a surgery to be there for me through 2 surgeries and to help me, cook for me, and take my abuse.
Also for all the encouragement they gave me when I didn't want to (I might have given up)
I love you all so much and don't think I ever took any minute for granted.
Peace and blessings to you all!!!

I am feeling really good and everything is going well. I do have my snack points, but I know not to over do it because I don't want to have that dumping feeling.
I have 18lbs to go to get to the doctors goal weight of 175. People are saying more and more when am I gonna stop.
I tell them I have no control and that I have not reached my goal yet. Because I am small at the top and bottom heavy, they can't get past my thin face and waist.
Oh btw I lost my butt in the process.....darnit!!!
almost 10 months

Well I'm 9 1/2 months out. I haven't lost any weight which is fine, I am now about to go to the gym and workout.
This las year was kinda hard because I went from Wls in September to a hip replacement in April. So while I am still recovering I am moving around so much and loving life. (I have walked with a cane since August 2009)
I did have a few minor setbacks(not from wls) , but I thank God for my healing and I am almost 100%.
It feels weird wearing a size 12(stretch of course) and a medium shirt. I am loving this journey!!!!
9 month anniversary
Jun 16, 2010
Well today is my 9 month anniversary and as far as the weight loss is concerned I am feeling great. I am down to 187lbs.
I had my hip replacement surgery on April 23 and although the hip replacement went fine, I now have some nerve damage as a result which has me in a not so good mood on days.
I am able to get around with the use of a cane and I am going to therapy. The docs have been trying different things to get to the root of the problem and in the mean time draining my pockets.
I just ask for all you to pray for my healing. My foot is constantly in pain and pain medicine is only temporary. I wake up all times of the night with sharp pains.
I know I will get better, but ugghhhhh I hate pain.
I will hit my goal before 1year
Jun 03, 2010
I have almost 9months out. I am so shocked at how fast this has happened. That means if I lose 10lbs a month I will reach my goal. If not it's not a big deal.
I can't believe I am actually wearing lg and xl clothes and my 14's from the avenue are getting too big.
This has been an easy journey as far as my weight loss is concern.
Just having some other issues that I know will be resolved real soon.
