Back in the game

Mar 10, 2013

Was going to have my surgery in 2010 but I had other health issues To take care of first. I had to have a spinal cord stimulator implanted for the pain in My arm caused by RSD/CRPS.

Got back into the program At Boston Medical Center in 2012 and I am scheduled to have surgery on April 15, 2013. I changed my mind about having gastric bypass to having the sleeve gastrectamy.

Still have Dr. Hess because Hess is the best!!

I have lost a total of 44 pounds or so since I was on this forum last.

Now I am 226 pounds. I started off at 296 lbs pack in 2010, I've lost 70 pounds total since I started the program.

I do feel that I do need the surgery still, it will help me prevent future health issues that could arise mostly hereditary. I came off of Metformin two months ago, and I hope to come off of the high blood pressure medicine Lisinopril.

I finally have an appointment to see the surgeon. I am excited, but it's in January. Well, I guess it's better than never, and it's after the holiday season.

"I am suffocating in my body"

Oct 15, 2009

I feel like I am a turtle at times. I am on my back and can't roll over, like what the hell? Is it my big belly? Was it because I ate a real big meal? It was because I keep eating too many big meals is what it is. I have a neuromuscular disease called Charcot Marie Tooth disease, it is a disease that falls under the MDA. I cannot walk like I used to in order to lose weight. Even if I eat the right foods. It's hard to exercise.  I have gone on the so-called diets, I have gone to Over Eaters Annonymous. I have lost weight before and keep finding it. I am getting closer to 300 lbs and I am not looking to have a party if I make it. I am borderline diabetic, I have sleap apnea real bad, and have to use leg braces to walk yet still have difficulty walking. Stairs are tough these days. I am happily married and have a 4 1/2 year old daughter and I want to be here for them.
