I talked to the nurse at Village Surgical at around 2:00, and she said that my pre-op testing is OK, so my surgery is still on for tomorrow. Then, Dr. Classen called at 5:10 to say the hospital cancelled my surgery due to no beds being available. Grrrrrrrrrrr... Two minutes later, Cape Fear Valley Hospital also called to say my surgery is cancelled because they have 106 people in the ER, and 30 people waiting on beds, so no beds will be available for my surgery tomorrow. What a let down at the last minute! Dr. Classen said he will call me in the a.m. as there is a slight chance I still could have surgery tomorrow (but not likely). Otherwise, it probably will be about a 2 week wait to get another date. Oh well....nothing I can do about this...

I went for the psych evaluation today. I was nervous because I did not know what to expect, but it went very well. She was easy to talk to and very knowledgable about the mental issues that gastric bypass patients face. This was the last requirement to be completed before I am submitted to insurance for approval. I should know in about 4 days whether all of my tests are OK.

Today I met with the nutritionist at Dr. Classen's office. Two other people were in my group, and I learned alot about proper nutrition both before and after surgery. Also had blood work done today at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

I had my initial consult with Dr. Classen in Fayetteville today.  I attended Village Surgical's seminar on 10-18-06, and originally had an initial consultation scheduled for 10-25-06, but caught a virus from my son and had to reschedule when I got well. Anyway, I am finally on my way! I should get my packet in the mail in a few days with my appointment dates for pre-approval testing. I'm so excited!!!
