OMG! I haven't been on in ages!!

Apr 27, 2010

Well wow, where do I even start?I'm so ashamed of myself.... I guess with an update. I have lost a total of 253 lbs. I'm done with that lol. I am loving life and my new body even though next month marks my 3 year surgiversary, I'm still in disbelief when I look in the mirror. I've recently moved to Atlanta and am planning to do big things here ;-) I've posted a before and after collage for the newcomers because I know that was my motivation here on OH. I promise I won't stay away so long...toodles!!

Hello...remember me?

Aug 31, 2008

I know right.....I don't even have to say that it's been forever since I've posted on this page. Well things are going greater than I expected. Life is good and I'm enjoying it and having fun. Being on the dating scene is/was scary, fun, and very interesting. I can shop at normal stores which is still a big "wow" for me. I am now a shopaholic! I've been doing alot of traveling and meeting new people. My weight does not hold me back...I have broken from the chains of insecurity, shame, and disgust. I've lost 200 lbs and I have 57 more to go before I hit my goal weight. I'm happier than I've ever been. So that's my 14 month update and I'll post again soon. Take care :~)

Twoterville!!!!

Mar 06, 2008

Hello everyone,
it's been forever since I've posted but here goes. Last week I fainted at bingo and was rushed to the hospital the flu and the DS don't mix! I was dehydrated, my pulse was high, my blood pressure was low. It was the scariest moment I have ever experienced. I went to the doctor yesterday for my follow-up and was hit with the wow moment that I had entered twoterville. I haven't been under 300 lbs in over 13 years!!! I was moved to tears. THANK YOU DS.

It's been a long time, I apologize

Hey everyone, I just wanted to post an update. I am doing well. I'm so thankful for the DS. Although I'm no where near my goal things are so much better and easier for me now. I can cross my legs, I can tie my shoes and put on socks without having to have my legs sprawled out on the bed. I can walk without being tired or having to sit (which used to drive my kids nuts). I have lots of energy. Clothes are a problem so be forewarned....go to the clothing exchange if at all possible. I'm lucky enough to have someone give me her clothes because she had her surgery 5 months before I did :) I try to hold on to my old clothes but now it's getting to the point where I'm just not going to be able to do it ( darn DS...lol ) but anyways, I'm down 100 lbs now and I will post some pics soon.

Til next time,
Sisera

changing for the good

Aug 11, 2007

Hi everybody,
I know it's been a while since I've posted but here's the update. I went to the doctor July 29th and I was at -41 lbs. I've done measurements and I've lost a total of 23 inches from my body (yay!!!!) I've had no issues with eating except for the fact that if I don't take my time and chew then it will come right back up. I've had energy issues but that's to be expected because of this major surgery. I've had great blood pressure, my knees don't bother me anymore, and I can walk the neighborhood without my back hurting which is an amazing accomplishment for me. What a difference losing just 41 lbs can make :) It feels funny to eat 1/3 of what everyone else eats and be completely full, that takes some getting used to. Head hunger...no problem. I thought that it would bother me to see others eat pizza or other restaruant foods but it doesn't. Normally, take- out makes me feel a bit nauseous. That's my story for now. I love my DS!!!!!

2 weeks post op ...July 6th

Hello Oh,
I just went for a two week check up and I've lost a total of 33 lbs!! I'm so shocked I haven't been under 400 lbs in years!!  Everything is going well so far. I just have to take it one day at a time. I love my DS!!

I'm Home!!!

Jun 23, 2007

Well OH, I'm home one whole day early. The only problem that I'm having is getting the fluids in.
I checked in the hospital at 6am on Wednesday. I was immediately taken to a conference room. A nurse came and got me from the conference room and took me to the back where I filled out some paper work and answered some questions. They gave me a gown and wrapped my legs up in ace bandages because they thought the Ted hose would did in my calf. They also came and took some of my blood to check my potassium level because of my high blood pressure. The next person that came in was Dr. Inman her bubbly attitude made me feel alot better :) She told me that she allotted 3 hours for this surgery and asked me did I have anymore questions. Anestesia came in next, asked some questions and walked me to the operating room. They said it would be cold back there but I had no idea that it would be that cold..lol. I was just standing there taking in all the scenary and looking at all the work that was going on behind the scene. I even heard someone counting the utensils. I was told to get onto the bed and what a small bed it was( I thought this was for the big folks?). I did as I was told while anestesia started my IV. She said that she was going to give me some meds to make me sleepy and that she would have to put a mask on my face and that was it. When I woke up I was in my room!! How did I miss recovery? Oh well, it was time to walk ,walk, walk.

Tomorrow's The Day!!!

Jun 19, 2007

Well OH,
This is it, I'm leaving in a few minutes to drive up to Carmel so that I can be closer to the hospital for my big day. Wish me luck :) I'll see you on the "losing side".

God Bless

Whew!! We're Good :)

I just got off the phone with Dr. Inman's nurse to get the results of my testing. She said that I needed to start on some Vitamin D and Calcium Supplements and that I have a urinary infection (ugh!!!). We are still on for June 20th!!!

Hi OH! I went for all of my pre-op testing yesterday I had to be at the hospital by 8:15. Everything looks good so far and we're just waiting for the blood work. I'm nervous but I don't know why.  I was given my SI and was told to start my breathing exercises on June 6th which will be exactly 2 wks away from "the day".  They say there is a 2 week freak but I think there's a 3 week freak too..lol. I'm so excited and ready to get this show on the road. Thanks for listening all.

God bless :)
