I am a 43 year old mother of 1. I have been overweight all my life. About 6 months ago while having a breast exam during my yearly checkup at the OB/GYN the thin and beautiful CNP doing the exam just came out and said, "have you ever considered bariatric surgery." Yes I need it at 352 (highest weight) but did she have to say it out of the blue with no talk about weightloss and while she was giving me a breast exam. I already felt uncomfortable laying there naked! My daughter, Jennifer, got engaged this year and she has been on me for a very long time to do something about my weight. I don't want to look like the Good Year Blimp at her wedding and I want to be alive to see grandchildren. She isn't happy with me looking into WLS because she sees it as a cheaters way out. I'm here to research and communicate with others who have had this done. I hope for the best.
9/10/07 Received a date for my first appointment with a WLS surgeon. 10/4/07.... let's see how it goes.
