yay surgery is done :)
Jul 09, 2012
My name is Nikki and I'm Steffs daughter :) my mom went in for her surgery at 810am today and everything went off without a hitch. It took about 3 hours and 1 hour in recovery b4 she went to her room...Tho no one is to sure what type of bypass she got due to her colostomy both her and our family are excited this surgery went as well as planned :) i couldn't be more proud of my mom for doing so well and fighting every step of the way to get where she is now, she deserves every bit of it. We wish her the best in making a speedy recovery and ill post again soon :)

colostomy and gastric bypass??????
Jan 29, 2011
hello evryone im new here to this site and im enjoying reading about triumphs and tribulations from all over.....however i do want to acknowledge how absolutely terrified i am about having this surgery bcuz on january 15, 2010 i had surgery to remove a big part of my colon due to diverticulitis from which i suffered with for more then 20 years...with the surgery came a colostomy that however isnt the scary part the really scary part is that i aspirated into my lungs which caused me to stop breathing and in turn i needed CPR which then caused me to spend 7 days in ICU...now it's been a little over a year now and im doing great since that operation but again i really don't want to die again what if i dont come back next time .....anyway does anyone have any words of encouragement for me i really could use some lately as this has been bothering me for some time now.....
