Well the first two weeks went by slowly.  I had a good amt of pain in the hospital.  Stayed an extra day b/c I couldnt get in enough fluids.  Better day 3 so got to come home.  No drain thank goodness.  Did well at home.  Tom stayed home for a week to help me.  Today is day 15.  Ive lost 12 lbs.  Not too bad.  I have been craving food terribly.  I went to the grocery for the first time today and wanted sugar so bad.  I almost cried.  There have been so many times I have wondered why I have done this.  Its so hard.  I cant sleep at night.  I havent needed any pain meds for a week during the day but still try to take it at night to sleep better.  Getting fluids in fairly well.  Protein on the other hand is terrible.  I did increase each day from 7-14 and have managed to make it up to 70gms now.  Every protein tastes terrible to me.  Most days I dont have nausea but today nothing seems to sit well.  Oscar is grouchy!  I have to go back to work Sat and am nervous as all get out.  I have terrible gas on top of it.  Ive gotten all my supplements in without any problems.  I keep trying new proteins every day hoping to find something that works.
Mom had her surgery today.  She is doing great.

Surgery just a couple weeks away!  Nutrition day down.  Im feeling good about this.  Im nervous though, the first few weeks will be really hard.  I have talked with some people that have had a difficult time after surgery.  It is a real possiblility.   Next monday is my lab pre op day.  Hopefully that goes well.

Nov 3rd is the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I cant believe it.  I know the time will fly by.  Im trying to prepare now.  Trying some protein drinks, taking vitamins, need to start walking.  Getting off pop and caffeine is the hardest!  Still waiting on date for pre op tests.  This will be 1 month after my 40th Bday.  A new phase of life to begin!  Super excited at this point.  Doing lots of research and a little nervous.

Well complete frustration with my doctors office has set in. 
Initial consult July1st.  Psych exam took 2 weeks longer than it was supposed to, to reach my chart.  Faxed info finally to insc. co.  I waited 2 weeks for the insc. company (very patient I thought) and called them.  They never recieved it!
After several emails it got sent.  The insc had the approval back to the office in 2 DAYS!! Amazing!  This was Aug. 19th.
Chart then goes to surgery scheduling.  It has been there ever since.  I have left only 2 messages in the last 10 days.  Again pretty patient I think!  Still NO call.  You never get a person in the office, only machines.  Soooooooo frustrating!
I have heard similar reports about them from several other patients.
Wondering if this is ever going to happen.

Well here is the official start to the journey.  I have been thinking about Gastric Bypass for over a year and have finally taken the leap.  I have insc. approval and am waiting on the date from the office.
