I am really excited to finally be beginning this process. It's been about a 2 1/2 year process, but it looks like it may be coming together now. I just had my first "introduction visit" to the bariatric center, who referred me to this site. Actually registering on the scale for the first time in about 9 years, it was quite a blow to my pride to actually see the number 500 there. 500 on the nose...500.00 pounds. Me....

I cannot wait for this surgery. I'm sure I have a very similar story as each and every one of you. Eating less than most other people yet still gaining weight, losing a nice chunk but then gaining it all back plus a couple of dozen more. I want to have a life outside the 4 walls of my home again. I work, go to church, go to the grocery store when I can muster up enough energy to walk around that much, and the rest of the time I'm here...at home in my recliner. I don't have the energy, and after about 4 years of living this way, I've all but given up.

Having this ball rolling after all this time has given me hope again. I'm thrilled to be here among you all!
