Oh wow, where do I begin?  Well, I've been fat almost my entire life.  I can actually look through pictures of my childhood and see the exact year I got fat.  It was the year my parents couldn't afford to send me to gymnastics anymore and I sat at home in front of the tv all day eating fruit snacks and cookies.  My school pictures are like a time line.  Kindergarten, oh she's so cute. First grade, wow look how many teeth she's lost!  Second grade...woah, um...what happened?  Too many Twinkies...that's what happened!  Not really, I've always hated those actually.  My weight kept piling on all through-out school.  I also have PCOS which only made it come faster.  Having PCOS also makes it a million times harder to loose.

I had lap band on june 18th but am now looking into a revision.  I lost about 15 lbs pre-op and then maybe another 20 or 30 lbs post-op, but that's it.  In fact I've gained back about 20 lbs of my total loss.  I am one of those rare few who feel NO restriction at all!  I currently have 9 CCs in an 11 CC band but still don't have even the tiniest bit of restriction, so I'm not very hopeful I'll get there.  I do have a floro coming up on April 2nd to see if there are any problems, but regardless, I've pretty much made up my mind to have the DS.  I'm TRYING to find a reason why anyone would choose the RNY over DS...I wish so much that I had researched the DS before I had the band.  That's my one bit of advise to anyone who is pre-op...RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH ALL, not one or two, but ALL of your surgery options, even if you are pretty dead set on one, that way at least you know that you're making the best decision.
