Hi Everyone.

I was always good sized but I was always very fit and athletic. I graduated high school at about 230 and was told to put on some weight for the jump to college.....Throughout and after college, my weight was about 270... but my activity level dramatically slowed and my eating habits did anything but slow after graduating!... I am now 42 years old (I still cannot believe I am in my 40's!!)  and I have somehow managed to double, YES, DOUBLE my weight in the last 21 years!!! Scary what 1/4 lb a week can do over 21 years huh???  Yep, I put on an average of 12 pounds per year since graduating and here I am, at 540 lbs!!!  Gross, I know! Anyhow, I have had 2 surgeries cancelled on me (one, 3 weeks before and one, 2 DAYS before) in the last 2-1/2 years.... Those are stories in themselves! Finally I have a surgeon that seems to be VERY well qualified and very confident in his abilities to work on someone of my size. I am scheduled to undergo my VSG on May 27th, 2014.... 6 days from right now !!!  That is a brief synopsis of how I ended up here.. For any of you out there that have basically been told that you are "too fat" for weight loss surgery, feel free to message me and I will give you the best advice I can. after wasting over 2 years and jumping through hoops for a surgeon that left me hanging, I have learned a lot about what to look for and the right questions to ask!
