I went to my pcp today, actually she is new to me. I really like her. She seems very supportive of me having the surgery. I also had my labs done while I was in the office. Also made appointment with sleep disorders doc...

Went to Psych evaluation today, that was kinda strange.... she was very nice and we had a good time talking ....she said I am an excellent person for weight loss surgery.....will give super strong referal.

Got a call from the sleep disorder clinic ...they have an opening for tonight and wanted to know if I wanted it ....ummm......YEAH anyway will be checking in around 7 pm and will be done around 8 am.

Well last night I checked into the hospital did my test I think I slept like 8 hours ....thats usually what i get in a week LOL
anyway they hooked me to all these wires to watch my heart, breathing , eye movement etc ...that was weird. The doc came in in the am and said although not severe its enough for me to have to use the machine...........not for longgg

Things have been moving faster then the speed of light this week. Every appointment I was able to get was because there was a cancellation. Otherwise it would have been a 2 week wait
This is becoming so real to me now... before I know it I will be on the losing side .....

Well time for an update ......Talked to New Start ..they have all the paper work except for letter from PCP. Called her office , the nurse said she would check and call me back. I received a call about 4:30 and my PCP had already done the letter and it was being typed up and should be ready by Thursday or Friday. New Start will then have all the paper work they need for Dr Richardson to review on Tuesday (he only reviews files on Tuesdays) then from there off to Tricare

Talked to Coralie at New Start, Dr Richardson has approved me as a patient and will do the surgery for me. I am sooo excited..that one more step toward the future. She said give it a week or so and call and check to see status. Believe me I will :))

Called New Start today , they had no info but said I could call Tricare ....so I did. The nurse checked my file it was just recieved on the 27th she said it looked like everthing was there and aske dif I had a date yet, of course I do not but told her my kids are only off school till Oct 16 and really wanted it done in that time so she printed it off for review asap and said to call middle of next week.......this is becoming so real now .......I just cant wait to get on with my life.....to feel better and look better. Talked to ins co ...again lol they are probably sick of me callin already. The lady I talked to was really nice. She said that she was gonna send an urgent email to the nurse stating that I needed a response asap and left my number to call right away with an answer. She thinks I will have one by the end of the week. YAY!!! I hope that is the case. I am just ready for life to begin...I have so much I am going to be doing ...I need to be healthy. Well I hopefully will be back in a few days with GREAT news. :))

Ins co called today. All they need is a heart/lung evaluation stating they are strong enough for surgery ..which she said my pcp could write based on my recent physical. And a blood test to see if I have an ulcer which is an h pilory test. and a visit with the nutritionist and thats it . I am almost there I cant wait. My friends from here have been so awesome and have shown so much support for me. I will never be able to repay their kindness. Thank -you so much Y'all :))

I talked to PCP office today, blood work came back fine..no ulcer YAY!! Have an appointment on Friday with Nutritionist from New Start , Carrie. She said she would fax report over ti Ins that same day. Pcp office faxed lab results today. So after Friday they will have all they need. Maybe next week I will get an appointment with surgeon. I also set my appoinment for my follow up sleep study ....that is Oct 25th. sooo not looking forward to that, oh well.
I am ready to get it done and go on but at the same time I am taking in every moment so I will never forget to be thankful for where I am at the moment. Till next time......

OMG I am approved !!! I cannot believe it.. I received a phone call from Judy my medical rep at the insurance co. She said that my file was at the next level and that she would have an answer for me on the 17th . I told her to call me on my cell that we were heaeded out to see my kids dad graduate basic training in SC . Not 10 min later the phone rings and it was her Its been approved she said ...have a nice time in SC :)) I am so excited!!! Have been hoping and wishing for this for 2 years and its finally here.......

I spent the afternoon and part of the evening at St Alexius, met with a group of Patients and Chris she explained everything that will take place before..during ...and after surgery. Then Carrie came in and gave us the nutritional information. I knew alot of it but I sat there taking it all in because this time I was not doing research this time it was for real they were preparing me for the nutritional needs after my surgery. Then went and sat for what seemed hours ...hey wait it was like 3 hours hehe.. for a consult with Dr Richardson and to set up a surgery date with Chris. I finally got called back and My surgery date is November the 14 do not know a time and I do not know when pre testing will be Linda is supposed to call in the next few days to set that up. Dr Richardson is very nice ....he said he sees no probs and he said we will take good care of you ...you are on your way........YAY!!! I have to start pre op high protein liquid diet Tuesday ......oh what fun :))

Linda called today Pre op testing is November the 6th she said plan on being there all morning they will do an EKG ..chest xray...blood work and things of those nature. Surgery is scheduled for November the 14th at 11:30 I have to be there at 9:30 This is really happening ...... I feel so blessed.

Had pre ops today I think they went well I really was there all morning ...oh well I am so excited this is really going to happen I could not do this without the support from the special people who love me ...you know who you are and I love you too :)) Life is wonderful and I have been given a second chance and I am going to appreciate every moment... till next time *Muah*

Well I wish I could say I am soo excited but I received bad news today. Hopefully just a set back . I received a call saying the cardiologists saw something on my EKG that could possibly be an old MI (heart attack) and that I had to get a cardiac clearance before they would do the surgery .....so surgery has been postponed for tomorrow :((( I was devestated when she said those words....Oh well what can you do I am just so thankful for my support system without it I could not have handled the news ... well I have an appointment on the 16th for a chemical stress test I just pray nothing is wrong surgery is set depending on the outcome of the test, for the 28th of this month

I had to be at the cardiologists office at 7 am I did not leave till 1130 The gave me a shot of this radioactive stuff that is attracted to the heart muscle I had to sit about 40 minutes for it to work then they did a scan and took 64 pictures of my heart ...a 3-d image then they did the chemical stress test OMG that sucked I pray I never have to do that again.... then they take another set of pictures of your heart after it has been stressed. Everything is fine the cardiologists said I am clear for surgery I should get the official word from the surgeon tomorrow .....Thank God !!!!

ITS A GO YAY!!!!!! I am back on track surgery is at 1030 on Nov 28th I cant believe it I cant wait to be on the losing side ....I will keep you updated TY to everyone who has supported me ..we are almost there...*hugs* till next time :))
