My story begins about 4 years ago when I found that I was having an increased level of back pain. I found out that I have Degenerative Disc Disease, compressed discs, nerve damage to both of my legs which has over time caused my right foot and ankle to become numb. I am a single mother with two very beautiful daughters that I love very much!!! I battled with my weight for the past 3 1/2 years, only to find that the pounds continued to haunt me. I found it extremely difficult to exercise, and believe me I tried many things but had no success. On January 17, 2009 I made a deal with myself that if I stopped smoking, which I must say I had done for 15 years, that I would go ahead and have the gastric bypass. Two weeks after I quit I requested a referral and that is where my journey began. I had my surgery on July 22, 2009 and with each day that passes I continue to see a brighter, healthier, and happier life ahead of me!!!
