today is 3/3/06, had my first checkup this morning with the surgeon, 11 lbs gone officially (surgical fluid the first few weeks makes the scale go up and down all the time) but i'm going with his scale right now. The visit went fine, got my sticthes removed, he said everything looks good and i'm approved to go ahead and start working into an excersize program...I have an appointment next wednesday at curves to have a tour of the place and just in time for thier sale (save $75.00) on a years membership. Of course i wish there were 50 magically gone, but alas, reality is a bugger sometimes lol...i'll take the 11 lbs! lol He moved me to stage 3 so I tried a few things, even a few bites of sushi! it wasn't half bad. I still want to stick with a protein drink for breakfast, don't need to go crazy just cuz he moved me along on my diet. This tool is only going to work so good for so long so i need to get my butt in gear and do some work. wish me luck...sue

correction to previous post: my addmission weight was 264.4, and i weighed myself there before it left and it said 255.4....NINE pounds?

feb. 24th...ok...i made it to the other side , they kept me an extra day due to infection in my lungs , i kept asking for antibiotics right away after surgery cuz i could see the ugly stuff i was spitting up...but they insisted iw was from the anesethics...which it may have been but i knew it would turn into something bad if it didn't get cleared up....the surgery itself went wonderfully, the care at St. Joseph's Hospital was absolutely fantastic, I highly recommmend them. the first day or so all i could do was sleep, my pain was managed very well with a drip, and there wasn't really that much to manage, i expected it to be a lot worse than it actually was. The worse part of the whole thing was getting the drain tubes pulled out, omg. Reminded me of a scene from braveheart ( lol) thank god it was over quickly, and that they got them out with just one try. I'm finally in the comfort of my own home and am preparing for a nice restful evening...oh btw...they told me not to weigh myself this morning at the hospital as i would probably have gained a bunch of water weight etc....i weighed my self anyways....and i was down 5 lbs! lol that felt good. probably give myself a few days to adjust to being home before i post again....take care everyone and thank you for the support and prayers....sue

passed the preop physical with flying colors, tomorrow is the big day...so many emotions! my son is taking me down to park rapids, i'm supposed to be there at 5:30 am, i'm the first one on the list for tomorrow. got my bag all packed, don't know if i will sleep tonight lol...thank you all for your postings, each one teaches me something new, and proves that each person's experience varies and so mine will probably too....god bless you all.

My lungs are pretty much congestion free...and I have started attending nicanon meetings here in town, tomorrow is my preop physical and i'm pretty much sure i'll pass (it was just the congestion we were conerned about), then I have school and the next couple days I work...then the weekend , then off to park rapids monday morning for surgery....they said they will call this friday to tell me when to be there...soooooooo, here we go!!!
