So like many other people, i've struggled with weight my ENTIRE life. I was put on a diet since I was 8 years old. They couldn't figure out why I kept gaining weight so they did a blood test and figured out i had Hypothyroidism. So they gave me pills to take. I still gained. I quit taking the pills and i don't know why, i just didn't want to take them. I get blood tests every now and then and they say that there is nothing wrong with my thyroid. weird i guess. anyways, I attempted to begin my weightloss journey summer of 2007. Insurance didn't cover it so when the end of the year came to upgrade the insurance they said it was already covered. Attempted again in January 2008 and the insurance said they didn't cover the surgery. So here I am waiting until the end of the year again to upgrade insurance. It was very depressing and such a downer but it helped me learn more and more about each surgery. At first, Lap band was my surgery of choice, then VSG, and now Lap RNY. I was frightened of rny at first but now i'm becoming more into having this surgery. I know it will change my life. I know there will be many ups and downs but I honestly think that it will save my life, physically and emotionally. Anyways, thank you to all the OH members in the message boards, without you i would know nothing!
