Surgery finally accomplished!
May 15, 2007
The trip to Puerto Vallarta went off without a hitch.................. arrived at the hospital , Dr Joya came in and introduced himself................. re-affirmed that I was there for the vertical sleeve, asked me if I had any questions............................... I said, "Nope, I'm just ready to do it!!" and I went to surgery about 5:30 pm. I did arouse with some discomfort and nausea from the gas, but after a little burping that went away!! By the next afternoon, I was back on the laptop oogling OH.....LOL I Got to leave the following day......after Dr Joya checked in on me, made certain that I was doing well ............spent one day at the NH Crystal, then on to a resort I had booked for a week. Dr Espinosa came to see me at the Crystal, said that I was doing great and he wouldn't need to see me unless I had problems................... No problems here!!
The San Javier Hospital is small, but definitely so well taken care of ...........someone is cleaning all the time and it shows!! Many of the staff speak little English, but seem to understand most of what you want................and if for any reason they don't , You can call Nathalie and she interprets or comes to do whatever you need her to!!
I was so impressed by the quality of the care, the three doctors, and the entire staff of that wonderful hospital. I did get a picture of Nathalie..........she is just a doll!! I'll be posting some pics as soon as I get a chance!!
I am so thankful for the opportunity to have a new lease on life, to enjoy every minute that God has left for me!!

If you wish the world to become loving and compassionate, become loving and compassionate yourself.
If you wish to diminish fear in the world, diminish your own. These are the gifts that you can give.-- Gary Zukav

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. --- Leo Buscaglia
Even though I think I might be able to do this by myself............I'm so glad that my buddies are there, right behind me, giving me a boost!!

Smiling Is Infectious
Author Unknown
Smiling is infectious,
you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today,
I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner
and someone saw my grin.
When he smiled I realized
I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile,
then I realized its worth.
A single smile, just like mine
could travel round the earth.
So, if you feel a smile begin,
don't leave it undetected.
Let's start an epidemic quick,
and get the world infected!
We must never forget who gets the credit for the freedoms we have, of which we should be eternally grateful.
I watched the flag pass by one day,
It fluttered in the breeze.
A young Marine saluted it,
And then he stood at ease..
I looked at him in uniform
So young, so tall, so proud,
With hair cut square and eyes alert
He'd stand out in any crowd.
I thought how many men like him
Had fallen through the years.
How many died on foreign soil
How many mothers' tears?
How many pilots' planes shot down?
How many died at sea
How many foxholes were soldiers' graves?
No, freedom isn't free.
I heard the sound of Taps one night,
When everything was still,
I listened to the bugler play
And felt a sudden chill.
I wondered just how many times
That Taps had meant "Amen,"
When a flag had draped a coffin.
Of a brother or a friend.
I thought of all the children,
Of the mothers and the wives,
Of fathers, sons and husbands
With interrupted lives.
I thought about a graveyard
At the bottom of the sea
Of unmarked graves in Arlington.
No, freedom isn't free.
Enjoy Your Freedom
God Bless Our Troops
Of all the gifts you could give our U.S. Military, Prayer is the very best one! |
