Time Flies When You Have Babies...

Feb 04, 2011

Wow, yet another year has passed and I've done EXACTLY what I said I wouldn't do... wait a year to post. Sigh... Baby girl number two, Jessica, made her arrival May 4, 2010. She is beautiful and now nine months old! She is a blond haired, blue eyed lovie that loves to snuggle. Her sister, Samantha, is my little brown haired, brown eyed little miss independent that can do it on her own, at almost two. Mini me. Who knew. I also have a confession. I have gained weight. This is my shame to admit. GOOD NEWS... I'm back on track and have joined Weight Watchers. I've lost four pounds in a little over a week. Not sure if that's due to the RNY. When I met my hubby, Derek, I put on that comfortable "I'm Fat and Happy" weight, about ten pounds. I was working on loosing that when he asked me to marry him. Then we got pregnant. Then we got pregnant again. Whew, I knew it would be tough but hey, that's the sacrifice for being older and having back-to-back kids. Well, I am down to my pre-Jessica weight, gulp...208. Now I'm on track to loose "Sammies" weight, then "Derek's" weight. I guess I've got about 35 more to go. It'll be interesting to see how my body has changed post delivery when I get back down to where I'd like to be. Will I still be able to wear my size 6 clothes when I get back to 175 lbs? That remains to be seen. By the way, WW also says I should be down to 155. Really, As you can see in my "after" photo, I think I look fine. More importantly, I felt great! Even at that weight you could count my ribs! Too bad that at 175 I'm still labeled "overweight" according to the BMI Calculator. I hate labels. I guess I'm back to blogging my "New Weight Loss Journey". By the way, the new WW rocks. Why join? Guidance I guess. I's been so long since my surgery without... I guess without support. It's easy to get comfortable. Snacking here and there. You loose the weight and life goes on, right? Well, thats not "The End".  In the end, we all need a little boost to keep going. WW is helping me do just that. I'll keep you posted, no, really I will. God Bless....

New Baby...

Dec 03, 2009

Well, here we go again. My husband and I are expecting another baby May 1st, 2010. I'm pretty sure she'll come early though. Did I say she? Yes, it's another girl. Her daddy and I couldn't be more excited! No, for those of you out there asking if we'll try for a boy. We're done with baby #2. We were trying for a baby this time around and we got it! A healthy baby girl. We did CVS testing to make sure she was going to be healthy, at 12 weeks gestation, and thank God, she is. Samantha is almost eleven months old already! Time flies! We're not sleep deprived anymore... for a while at least, until the new baby arrives. Not so sure about a name though, still working on it. Motherhood is amazing! I can't say enough... we, I have been so blessed. Thank you to all who have wished us well. Have a very Merry Christmas and a healthy, happy new year.

Samantha...

Apr 15, 2009

She got here on the 19th of February, two days before her due date, and she's amazing! She turnes two months tomorrow. Motherhood is everything I imagined and more. I believe that God had her planned for us. I know how that sounds, especially to those who may not believe, but it's true. I have to believe that everything that has happened has happened for a reason, for this moment, and for this child. Delivery was good... just say yes to the epidural! We were in the hospital for two days. Wow, I guess I'm still shell shocked and sleep deprived. I'll post a picture, but I'm afraid that's all I have in me at the moment. I'm going to bed. God bless...

It's Almost time...

Feb 15, 2009

Well, here we are, one week away from the delivery of our daughter and I still feel fantastic. I've gained right around 25 pounds and I can still sleep at night! Woo Hoo! Right now, she has the  hiccups and is moving around. This has been FANTASTIC! I have loved every moment of being pregnant. I'll post pregnancy pictures of my husband and I as soon as we get them. We'll probably have pictures of the baby by then too. As far as names go, we really like Samantha. My husband just told me to let everyone know, as he pats his belly, that he was generous enough to gain all of my baby weight, and that I'm still hot pregnant. Got MILF? He is so cute. I know I've said this before, but I'll say it again... I have been so blessed. As I type this blog, I'm hearing rattles behind me. It seems that our cat, Katastrophy... Tassy for short, is on her back in the pack-n-play, playing with the toys attached to the car seat next to her. It is so funny! What is she going to do when the kiddo gets here? Our parents are so excited about the newest addition to the family. This makes grand baby number six for his parents and grand baby number one for mine. My Dad is as giddy as a school girl. Well, let me get going. I just wanted to let everyone out there know how we're doing and to thank everyone for their well wishes and blessings. No matter where each one of you are in the process of your weight loss journey, I wish you the best of luck. Until the next time. God bless.

It's a girl!

Oct 03, 2008

Well, yes... the good news is that our baby is a healthy little girl. We found out by sonogram a week or so ago that she is a she, and all is well with the pregnancy. She moves around a lot and I should start to feel hiccups soon. I feel great too! I have only put on about five pounds so far. My Doctor is happy with that. I guess I'm, or should I say, she is gearing up for some weight gain! The last trimester I should safely put on about a pound a week. I do plan on breast feeding too, so that should help me loose the baby weight after she's born. No, we have not picked out a name either. Truth be told, not much is appealing to us. We're still looking though, gotta love the internet! Who needs to buy baby name books... Oh, we moved into our new home too. I'll post pictures once we tend the "jungle" of a yard. That might be a while though... I'll try to post a preggo picture soon, now that I have a baby bump, it's so cute. Pregnancy is such a beautiful thing. To the pregnant women out there... love your body, you are beautiful! Until next the time!

Did someone say under contract?

Aug 27, 2008

Yes, it's true. It seems that we've bought a house. WOO HOO! All I can say is that, God knows what he's doing. We must have had at least four contracts on homes over the past six months. Can you believe, the first contract we wrote is the one that was approved and accepted? Anyone out there who hears the words short sale KNOW exactly the pain we've had these past few months. Fortunately, the SS was approved last week, the contract was signed, and we hope to close sometime in the next few weeks. Thanks to all who've wished us the best, who've prayed for us, and sent me their friendship and encouragement. This site rocks and so do you! Until the next time...

Here Comes the Bride... and Little One...

Jul 15, 2008

WOO HOO! Yup, we tied the knot on June 20 th in a beautiful and private ceremony in the courtyard of the historic Kenmore Inn. That would be in old town Fredericksburg. If you get a chance, google it. It is a beautiful little B&B downtown so if you're ever downtown, stop by for some dinner and some wine. You won't regret it. Yes, also to the fabulous news.... we're having a baby! We found out on Father's Day that we're expecting. I... we, couldn't be happier. We're due on the 21 st of February. Keep your fingers crossed for us that all goes well with the pregnancy, so far so good though. No morning sickness... let's hope it stays that way. I'm eating healthy, still. Remember, you only need an additional 300 calories a day to sustain a pregnancy. I've only gained a little weight, mostly by body is "shape-shifting". So, my clothes are tighter and uncomfortable and I'm living in scrub pants until I can progress into maternity clothes. Mom and I are looking at some today. I almost forgot, we still don't have any pictures from the wedding, but if you google "Robin Stoner Photography" you'll see some of our pictures on her website homepage. If you search for Blasingame/Buchanan under photos, there are a few more pictures of our wedding there... just so as you know, we'll also do pregnancy and baby photos with her when the time is right. We also have a contract on a home. Hopefully, this'll be the one but we still haven't heard anything yet. I'll keep you posted. Until the next time... God bless!

Love is in the air...

Apr 28, 2008

Hello all! Wow, another long span between posting an update on my blog... go figure. I've been doing very well. Getting married. MARRIED!? Yes, I said it. This summer sometime. Haven't set the date yet. Don't worry, I'll post a photo. I'm feeling pretty well though. Work is.... well, work. Staying pretty busy. We're actually meeting with a mortgage Co. this afternoon to find out what we qualify for. Keep the fingers crossed please, I'm hoping not to be laughed out of the building. We're ready to start looking for a home. We will need more space to be able to start our family. YEAH! Finally. I'm telling you, I've been blessed in so many ways. I have to run. I think we're going to shoot some pool.

My Cowboy...

Dec 01, 2007

Hi there all! I hope you are all doing well. Speaking of "well"... how bout my cowboy? Well, this is it... the one... my man. I'm through looking. I have been blessed many times over. Wow. Things are finally moving in the direction I had hoped for. With any luck... by this time next year, we'll be adding a little one to our lives. My diet is still the same, although I've gained a bit back. I'm up to 175! Must be the wine and my new love. I'll have to tweak something... uh, yea... I'm sure it's the wine. I'll post next month and let you know how it goes. Gotta cut it back! Bummer... OH! I almost forgot. We've been LOVING this artist, Eli Cook, who plays this metal/blues music. We go out to see him whenever he plays close to us. If you have a chance to check him out you should. He has a My Space page (Eli Cook Band) and also has stuff on iTunes. Trust me, he'll rock your panties off... ha ha! I crack myself up! Until next time... Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! Happy Hanukkah! Happy Winter Solstice! Happy Kwanzaa! You get the picture...

Happy Re-Birthday to me!

Oct 19, 2007

So, here is the down and dirty. As badly as I want to keep up on this site, life just keeps getting in the way. Don't be sad, rejoice! You too will understand one day how wonderful life can be. I am two years out today. I weigh, as of yesterday, 169 lbs. Holding steady. Oh yeah, by the way, it was my gallbladder that was giving me problems. I had it out on the 5th of September laparoscopically. It was a piece of cake, hardly hurt at all, not like the bypass. So what else has been happening in my life? I've dated a few men, always looking for the "one". I do believe I've found him though. He's wonderful and polite. He's from Texas and knows how to treat a lady! What a joy it's been getting to know each other. I think I can stop looking for the right "one", this just feels right. I've also been going to church. Well, lots of churches. My Aunt tells me that I'm a "seeker". She's right. I guess I'm looking for a "home". I've learned a lot and have been blessed in the process. I have a new cat. Tassy, short for Katastrophy, is on my arm right now. She's a solid black cat with amber eyes. So cute... She's been with me for a few weeks so far. Oh, my furniture is ready from La-Z-Boy too... about time if you ask me. I'm going to have it delivered next week. Well, I guess this will have to hold you for now. Until the next time...
