I have been overweight for the past 16 years.  Before I got pregnant with my daughter I weighed 120 pounds and didn't have any issues with weight.  Well because of the pregnancy and Depo Provera injection after, my hormones just went all out of whack!  I have tried everything under the sun to lose weight.  Each attempt would start off ok, lose a little weight then it would stop.  I would get frustrated give up and gain it back plus some.  I finally came across a doctor who took the time to listen and I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome a couple of years ago.

So the beginning of 2010 I decided enough was enough and I needed to do something drastic to make a change.  February 15, 2010 I did two things - Made an audition tape for The Biggest Loser 2010 and attended a surgical weight loss seminar at The Cleveland Clinic.  If you would like to see my audition video please visit:

I am very excited about my surgery.  I have people ask me are you nervous?  Honestly, no I'm not nervous just really excited like a kid on Christmas Eve.  I have a new outlook on life and so looking forward to the life that I'm going to experience after surgery.

Now a little about my family.  Michael is my husband and best friend who has been with me from my skinny days to my fat days and has never ever put me down about my weight.  Brittany is my beautiful 16 year old daughter and Dillon is my handsome 12 year old son.  I am blessed to have a loving family who loves me for who I am and very supportive in my decision to have the surgery (Dillon doesn't think I need it, what a great kid!).  I have started looking into Brittany in possibly having WLS also.  She also has been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome and we have been struggling with her weight since she was about 9 years old.  She is a active kid, playing tennis, fast pitch softball, helping her dad coach little league football and the girl is constantly walking!  So if you know first hand about teenagers having weight loss surgery or know of a family who has gone through with it please point them in my direction as I would love to speak with them.

Any questions?  If so please ask as I am an open book.  I love sharing my stories about my life and believe me I've had a very interesting one, from having a father who was diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic when I was 14 years old to being molested as a kid by a neighbor with a lot of stuff in between.  I love life and I live with no regrets because living with regrets is a waste of time.  Live and learn then move forward.  So you ask why am I having the surgery if I love life?  My answer to that is because I want to not only enjoy life mental wise but also physical wise.  I am looking forward to doing so many things with my family that we haven't done because of my weight.  I'm also looking forward to so many little things that have become harder for me to do because of my weight.

So there's me in a small nutshell.  I hope you enjoyed reading this and like I said if you have any questions just ask.
