Junk in the trunk

Junk in the trunk...I don't want the Cadillac trunk I want the Prius trunk (not to small, but not to big)!

Hello!  Let me just say I love my elliptical!  My kids love it to!  I have it set up in the living room, turn on a show and off I go.

Have tried a few new recipes that were a big hit with the family.  First I did the Ricotta Bake along with the Ricotta Dessert.  The family gave the Ricotta Bake 2 thumbs up, but they were not to crazy about the Ricotta Dessert.  I told them they were crazy and didn't know what they were talking about.  Maybe it's a woman thing, because all of the ladies I work with tried it and all loved it.  They also loved the Ricotta Bake.  The next recipe I tried was The Sheppard's Pie and yet again another hit!  I did the topping a little different than EggFace.  Instead I used mashed cauliflower and added a little bit of crumbled blue cheese with a little of shredded cheese.  Yummy!  Again the family and co-workers loved it.  One girl asked that I make it for her before I go out for my surgery because I won't be there for her birthday potluck.  Love to cook, because I love seeing people happy when they try one of my dishes.

Ok now for the junk in the trunk comment.  If you don't know what I mean please ask, for those of you, who do understand - what trunk are you and what trunk do you want?

Until next time.

Things to help along the journey!

Aug 28, 2010

It's almost here!  I'm finally getting my elliptical in a few hours and I can't wait to get it home to start using it!  Trying to get everything started before my surgery on October 14, 2010 from making a exercise program to trying different recipes.

Let's talk about negative people and things today.  I was reading a comment a OH member posted a few days ago about the lack of support she was getting from her husband and friend.  It made me sad and mad that this member was not getting the support she deserves from her so called loved ones.  I pray that this member will find the stength to not only change the physical part, but the mental part also.

So when was the last time you said or did a negative thing?  When we are made to realize how negative we are being, it sucks.  Negative things are energy suckers.  They drain you physically and mentally.  I ran into a friend I haven't seen in about a year and after about 10 minutes speaking with her I wanted to run away screaming!  The time she opened her mouth until we parted was nothing but negative comments about her husband, stepson, job, home, etc.  By the time I walked away I was so drained mentally and physically I just wanted to go to bed.  I also remembered why I haven't called her.  I had heard through the grapevine that her husband got a good paying job, she was working a great job, they moved into a new house, got a new truck and the kids were doing good.  Instead what I heard from her was - husband is gone 2 weeks at a time for jobs (but she would complain when he wasn't working), her job is ok and the boss likes to flirt with her, new house sucks because she didn't want to move there, truck goes through a lot of gas (hello!?), her stepson wasn't listening and being trouble....so you feeling drained yet just reading this crap?!

I myself wasn't always a positive person.  During our dating years it was my husband that pointed it out to me.  I don't even remember what I said, but remember as if it happened yesterday what my husband said to me:  I said my negative comment and he looked at me and said "why do you always have to be so negative about everything, why can't you just be happy?"  Talk about a cup of very cold water being thrown in your face for a wake up call!  I took his comment to heart and decided to change.  I didn't change overnight, but I did kick little Miss Negative Susie to the curb along with her baggage!

So do you surround yourself with positive people and positive things?  If not, why aren't you?  Most of us feel that we are not worthy because we are fat or ****(insert your's here).  That type of thinking has to change for you to succeed.  Would you take your car in for a awesome paint job, but not get tune ups?  Pretty silly, huh?  Your changing the outside, but you gotta work on the inside to, because things will stop working for the physical part eventually if you not taking care of the insides.  Just like your car with the awesome paint job, what good is it if it's just sitting there collecting dust because you didn't take care of the inside?  So the next time your around negative people or things I want you to RUNAWAY or be the hero and say/do nothing but positive things!  If youself feel like saying something negative, count to 10 first and think of something positive instead, if you can't shut your mouth!  You don't want to be the Negative Life Sucker do you?

Start today with Positive thoughts and things.  Your goal today is to not do or say 1 negative thing about yourself or anybody else.  I promise the more positive things you for yourself the better you will feel mentally and physically.  If you have someone in your life who is always negative, YOU be the one to point it out to them and ask them if they don't have anything positive to say to please keep their comment or actions to them self.  You never know, you maybe the one who will be the positive one someone needs in their life.

God Bless!
Susie
