02/24/14-  i still tell people to pinch me because i cant believe it. Im so thankful to Dr. jawads office staff for all the help. I have wanted this surgery for 10 years and its always been so hard. And in less than a month i got approved and im happy to say i have my surgery date for April 9th. Preop is March 28. Im so excited!!!!

02/21/14-  I can believe it.  You guys dont know how long i have wanted this surgery and today i get a call from predetermination saying they basically have spoken to insurance nurse and she doesnt see a reason not to approve my surgery.  Surgeons office just waiting on written approval to submit to surgery scheduling.  Its so hard to believe but im excited.  Although my nerves seem to be kicking in and im getting a little scared and it could just be im sooo happy!!!! 

02/20/14-  So i was notified all medical records and testing had been submitted to my insurance i should know in 2 weeks.... Im so nervous

02/18/14-  I know the eating is not going to be easy but im determined to do it.  My problem is feeling full and i know this is where the surgery will be beneficial to me. Alot of information was given and helpful.  I am still confused on how to read the protein labels and what to buy.  Also i found out i had a bacteria in my stomach from the labs so i have been put on a 2 week medication to clear it up.

02/17/14-  so i went to my psych eval kinda worried. I wasnt feeling good had bad migraine. I think my psych went well. She kept asking the reason for the surgery, i don't know anyone else's response but for me i dont want to be in pain anymore. I want to be healthy and live a longer life.  I had to stop half way to run to bathroom. I was so sick but i passed my eval. 

02/17/14- went to labcorp to have all my labs done.  Today was not a good day woke up with horrible migraine. Have my psych eval later. 

02/07/2014-   Today I met with Dr. Jawad in his office.  He advised me because of my BMI I would be a good candidate for the DS surgery.    i am excited because apparently my insurance, United healthcare, is not requesting a whole lot.  The only problem is they want weight and dates for the past 5 years.  Well with health insurance being so high I do not believe I have all complete 5 years but will try to do my best to get the documentation.  I just recently moved from texas to Florida last year so its going to be hard. But i have faith.

02/05/2014-    I went to the seminar and met Dr. Jawad.  I was amazed at all the information we got.  I am hopeful that everything will be good.  My starting weight is 343 lbs.  This is the first time I actually have ever posted my weight.
