Surgery day

So today is surgery day and I leave for the hospital in approximately 3 hours.  I didn't sleep much last night and I'd love to blame it on the cold but that was only partly the problem.  I'm not really nervous just kept thinking about everything that is about to happen, I guess both anxious and excited with maybe a little bit of nerves going on.  My poor husband kept having to deal with me getting up in the night, I probably should have slept in another room so at least one of us would have gotten a good nights sleep.  The bad news with the cold is I feel miserable going into surgery.  My head is so full including my ears which have been plugged for the past couple of days.  Then lucky me the cough started yesterday.  So everytime I'd lay down my throat would dry because I'm breathing in and out through my mouth because my nose is plugged and it makes me cough.  Now I'm not anything to eat or drink before surgery so I occasionally rinse my mouth with water to try to keep it from feeling too dry but that's not helping the throat.  I'm hoping with all the antibotics they give you with surgery will kill this mess of a cold, I doubt it though.  The other bad thing is I haven't been eating hardly at all -  I noticed that my weight loss has stopped completely because I'm only getting in about 300 calories a day the last few days - so not good.  Its difficult when you have no appetite because you can't smell anything.  I'm just hoping that it doesn't hurt the healing process.  Best of luck to everyone else having surgery today - this is so exciting!
