Also had a gyno appointment and all is fine there as well. Discussed birth control post bypass and will have to look at something other than the pill... maybe the patch.
Tomorrow morning I do my Upper GI exam (barium swallow) then that concludes medical exams for now. Only leaves psych exams (Oct 30 and follow up 2 weeks later) and nutrionist meeting (Nov 20). Getting there a little bit each day.
another step

Thursday I went to Dr Ehinger (primary dr) and had my blood taken for all the tests I need (5 vials!!!) and he will be more than happy to send all results to Dr Bauman (surgeon). Then went to see Ed (psychiatrist) and we set up my Psych eval appointment. Also discussed a couple of my fears about what if I make this drastic decision now and in 10-20 years they have come up with something less invasive? Ed was great about telling me that I need to look at today and what works and what will give me quality to my life now. maybe they will have some miracle cure for obesity in the years ahead, but that doesn't help me today. This surgery works and keeps weight off long term. it made me feel a lot better.
I go on the 26th to do the upper GI barium test and also to see Dr Cope for my yearly. The goal is to have all my test results to Dr Bauman by first week of December. Maybe even before then. Each day gets me closer. I will have Open Enrollment for my insurance on Nov 1. When I elect new insurance, my benefits case manager at work said she will try to get BCBS to allow me to pre-certify for surgery before Jan 1. That will save so much time.

Still walking everyday and noticing it's not as tiring. have emailed Ed to give him a couple of questions for our session Thursday. The whole, "Don't fix what ain't broke" fear. What if I have this and I have nothing but problems?? I don;t think I am going to get healthier without it, but it is still a concern. Tired today so I will prolly go to sleep early. I might be able to get my approval earlier than 1-1 since Debra said to let her know as soon as I sign up for Open Enrollment and she will try to get me the OK to send info for pre cert.
Asked Becky, Leslie and Patty to be my "At work" support group and they said it was no problem. All positive steps!!
