I am 34 years old and I feel like I am just beginning my life. My husband Sam and I were married almost 3 years ago and we have a beautiful 2 year old daughter. I have been fighting my weight since about puberty like so many others. I have also been on the weight loss/gain yo yo since I can remember. Everytime I would lose a significant amout of weight, I would gain it back plus some. I actually did really well when I was pregnant and only gained about 20 pounds. After she was born, the pounds started flying on. UP UP UP I went and the harder I tried to get them off, the more I gained. I was crazy....and didn't know what to do. I had started thinking about WLS several years ago, not quite qualifying but not sure it was for me either. About a year and a half ago I started really researching WLS and the different styles. I talked to my PCP and he thought I was a great canditate for it and gave me this one piece of advise. He said, "My experience has shown me, the more invasive the procedure, the better the results." That was all I needed to know the RNY was right for me. My research began focusing on the RNY and the more I learned, the more I knew it was the right one for me. Now, I have to find a surgeon. I found Dr. Keith Boone in Fresno and am very pleased with him. Nutritionis, Psych, and Ob/GYN down, blood work down and surgery scheduled for 8 weeks later. Man, that felt like a LONG time. It really went fast. I went from, "Is it March yet" to "Pre-OP" is tomorrow in no time. I am not quite 4 weeks out of surgery and I know it's the best thing I've ever done for myself. I'm not good about keeping up with a blog but I will try. These boards are magnificent.

Peace and Love to all.
