Great News

Dec 09, 2007

Can you say good to be home and in my own big KING bed, makes me want to do jumping jacks .  Oh life is good.  Anyway, I had a surprise call from the office where I wil be doing my Psych evaluation and they have actually moved my date up to January 4th from January 9th, the same day as my evaluation with my gastric bypass doc.  This was a great present to come home to after wearing myself out at Disney .

By the way, Disney = spending lots of money, but with an added benefit of getting to lose weight.  My total loss for three days of non-stop walking and lots of water drinking = 10.2 lbs.  I think walking 13.5 miles had something to do with it, along with skipping Mickey Mouse Ice Cream bars.

Until next time, be good, and think happy/skinny thoughts.

Disney Bound

Dec 07, 2007

Did anyone tell you that being at Disney World and trying to be good in terms of diet and what one eats is a very difficult job.  Very difficult indeed.  But, being the champ that I am, I have maintained a pretty good handle on things.  Mickey Mouse ice cream bars and chocolate coated rice crispy treats are to die for and I haven't had any.  I did tackle one of those GIGANTIC TURKEY LEGS though.  Can you say MMMMMMM  MMMMMMM Good.  It was better to have that than the candy and french fries.  Also, there is no better place to get your exercise in while visiting all of the parks, at Epcot alone we walked a good 5.5 miles the day we were there.  My feet and my asp are sore to prove it.  Walking the parks has actually allowed me to lose 5lbs. while on the trip.  Forget a health club membership, I just need to move to Orlando Florida, purchase an annual park ticket to Disney World, and then just hit the pavement walking the parks.  With my upcoming gastric consult, I am trying to be good and stay on the straight and narrow path.  Disney is definitely one of the greatest places on Earth.

Anyway, I keep having these dreams about my appointment and how life will be after my surgery.  I am excited to have this process now rolling along.  I keep my fingers crossed that things will go smoothly, but I also have myself prepared in case things don't go well, I am not being pessimistic, but I am just trying to be a realist.  I am sure other people have had the same kinds of experiences.

Well until next time, be good.   Taz

Getting The Party Started

Dec 03, 2007

Doing some catching up now.  Updated my story today and now to get current on "the Blog".  March of 2007 got my juices flowing with the big group weight loss seminar.  There were so many people in need of help it was like a wow moment.  Loved everything I heard and saw.  Went right along as I expected and reinforced lots of the information that I new.

Note that in March my juices were flowing from excitement, but the very next day they were dried out from the fact that I knew I could not have the surgery till some time in 2008 - hoping for month of February.  Now, many of you may be asking/wondering what is up with the highs and lows, and why will it take till 2008.  Take a big guess, no go ahead, really take a guess as to why - can you say I N S U R A N C E.  All together now class, Say it with me, INSURANCE bullpoopoo   :(  :(  :(  :(

Fast forward to November - here we are all excited.  I have everything switched over to my wife's insurance - who will indeed cover the surgery - once I do all the necessary consultations and paperwork.  Insurance will kick in January 1, 2008 and then I can start jumping through the hoops with financial backing of my loan shark the insurance company.

Now, here we are on this lovely day of December 3, 2007.  I just received my confirmation date of January 4, 2008 for my one on one consulation with Dr. Givens (my future stomach cutter). Now guess what?  This has my juices flowing again :) :) :)  On this day, I also received my confirmation date of January 9 for my Psychology consult.    Wow, the Gods must be looking down on me because this was like a little piece heaven to get both of these dates on the same day.  I will sleep good tonight and think of very happy thoughts in my dreams.

I want to cherish the holidays as much as the next person, but honestly, I am so excited about doctor visits that I wish I could do a little time travel and fast forward to January 4, 2008.  It will be tough for the next few weeks playing the waiting game.

Well that just about does it for now.  Later :) :) :)    Taz
