Being obese my entire life I never thought I would become a normal weight.   At age 41 my doctor told me I needed to consider starting insulin as the 4 medications I was taking were not controlling my diabetes.  My blood pressure medication was increased as my blood pressure was elevated and effecting my kidney function.  All of my labs are now normal and I am no longer on any medications for these serious conditions.  Some people that were close to me were unable to handle my lifestyle change and unfortunately are no longer in my life.  I found some people are not comfortable with my change of attitude and did not really have my best interests at heart.  My husband had problems accepting the new me but thankfully he came around after I explained to him that this is the journey that I am taking and I need your support.  The told him you are either with me or against me.  He attended a support group meeting and a counselor was present at the meeting who helped point out things to him and he has been extremely supportive ever since.  He tells me how proud he is of me all the time.

I am now 34 ponds from my goal and 20 pounds from a normal BMI.  I workout 5-6 days per week and I love my new energy. My doctor told me I am now "a diet controlled diabetic".  I enjoy the monthly support group meeting.  The positive energy is so inspiring.  I will be forever grateful to Dr. Bell and his entire staff for saving
my life.
