It's been 3 months since surgery
Apr 12, 2010
Received another 0.5 fill today-I think that makes me at 4 cc in my 10 cc band.
I have lost 5 inches on my waist! Hips a bit slower but going down as well.
BMI down to 33 from 40!
Yay for the band!

Fill on 3/10/10
Mar 25, 2010
it felt good for 3 days-then felt like it did before
I've decided to go again Monday-3/29/10- for a bit more fill hopefully.
My office is somewhat conservative in amount of fill but I can go
in every 2 weeks-have not had to pay a co-pay yet-maybe at 3 months.
The weight loss seems so slow to me but they always say "you've got the band,
that is normal"! ugh! But I'm losing and changing size and building new
eating habits :) That is all positive stuff!
2nd Fill Today
Feb 24, 2010
After the fill appointment I stopped into the gym I've been wanting to check out and took a tour to check it out. I have an appointment tomorrow at 4:00 for orientation and to get started. I think the only way I'm am going to succeed is to exercise-unless I want to eat nada and I am not into that so much! Wish me luck
First Fill Over :)
Feb 10, 2010
Lots of worry over nothing. I did find out I have a 10cc lap band with a low profile port. I recieved a 1.5 cc fill today. It was uneventful and easy. I have another appointment in 2 weeks for another fill. I lost 10 pounds since my surgery day 4 weeks ago. Of course I want that to be double but . . . I have to be realistic with my band tool! My next goal is to be under 200 pounds. I weighted 210.5 today. Wonder how long it will take the next 10 pounds? I need to start moving more-that might help. Winter go away-spring come quick!

First Post-op Appt. and First Fill
Feb 10, 2010
Today marks 4 weeks since Lap Band surgery. I went today for my pre-op appointment. I have lost 10 pounds since surgery. I thought I would lose faster :(. I have not lost any weight in at least 12 days. Down to 210.5 pounds.
I did find out I have a 10 cc band with a low profile port. I did get a fill today but forgot to ask how much! I have an appointment in 2 weeks to get another fill.
My goal is 145 pounds so 65 pounds to go! I did buy some size 16W pants today -down from size 18/20W since Christmas.
FOCUS ON HEALTH NOT SCALES
Feb 02, 2010
I went to my PCP for sore throat/cold and the nurse was not going to make me weigh. I told her I wanted to weigh. (first time for that) I had not been in the office since December! I am down one size in pants; another five pounds will move me another size lower.
My blood pressure was 116/80! Wow it is always much higher than that on my medication. She was so impressed! Yeah I'm getting healthier. It is easy to focus on the scales and not on my health. I have to remind myself to focus on health not the scales!

Learning Curve
Jan 25, 2010
I must say I am learning about me and my eating habits on this WL journey. I eat without thinking! Not good. Saturday night was my first "night" out. Went to some friends to watch the University of Kentucky CATS! GO CATS! Everyone brought food. I brought some things I thought I could eat and I ate some potato soup. All was good until I had to taste the pie-only the filling. . . then I had to have some of this desert like a chess squares. Needless to say I ate too much and my tummy hurt-ouch.
Well didn't quite learn my lesson. Sunday had shake for breakfast, lunch-sweet potato. Then for dinner I made pancakes from oatmeal, cottage cheese, and egg whites. Yummy! Well ate small bites and smart serving. Did okay. Later went to the kitchen to clean up and there was a couple of pancakes left over sitting on the counter. I picked one up and took a bite okay-then decided to dip another piece in applesauce-OH MY-didn't chew. First experience with something getting stuck. I had a total panic attack-it hurt so bad. I paced the floor, spit up, burped, finally drank 2 ounces of hot water. That fixed it. This episode lasted maybe 15 mintues and it left me shaking. I was so scared.
Today only liquids. No more pancakes! Hopefully this lesson will stick-no pun intended-for a day or two.

Update
Jan 14, 2010
Wow! I am amazed that 2 1/2 days ago I had lap band/hiatal hernia surgery. I feel great. I just slept 5 hours straight in my bed. Yay for rest-I think my pain meds make me hyper so I only too tylenol last night.
My belly feels like I have done hundreds of sit-ups-so tight and swollen. Day 4 1/2 on liquid diet is going good. Water, SF Jello, Chicken broth-my new tummy likes them all. If I drink slowly all feels good going down. I am learning how to sip--wow hard to do. When I don't it's an odd feeling of slight pain right under my sternam. I really don't know if that is my hernia repair or my stomach??? I want to thanks all of those who sent heal thoughts those who prayed for me. To God be the Glory.
