Feeling hungry 3/17/07
Mar 17, 2007
I've been feeling hungry lately and I'm so sick and tired of this liquid diet! Physically I'm doing fine, but mentally I just want some real food. I should start to introduce mushies today. I'm going to have one item such as cream of wheat as the first food item today. I'll see how that goes and then maybe tomorrow I'll have something different. So far I've lost 17 pounds from my pre-op weight. I'm thinking I'm probably going to gain a few pounds back once I start eating real food again so I won't get too happy with this weight loss. My port incision isn't healing as well as my other incisions. I go to the surgeon next week so he'll let me know if this is okay or not. I'm probably not getting in enough protein drinks. I hate them that's why. I do try to drink at least one per day. I have 3 different kinds; Isopur, Advantage, and the IDS New Whey protein drink. I figure when I start to eat solid food again I'll do better w/ my protein intake.
I'm back from the hospital! 3/8/07

Came back from the hospital today and now I'm banded! I feel fine and I'm trying to get used to this object inside of me. It's not like I can feel it or anything, but it is a psychological process for me. I'm on clear liquids today and I may decide to do clear liquids tomorrow too. It's only because I drank a cup of crystal light today and it made me feel nauseas. I think I'm doing very well considering I've never had surgery before. I'm walking around w/ no problems and I'm in a good mood. My roommate in the hospital couldn't believe I'd just had surgery earlier in the day. Could be adrenaline, I don't know but I hope I don't crash!
Surgery coming soon
Mar 04, 2007
My surgery date is coming up in 3 days and I'm nervous as well as excited. This is my first surgery ever. I'm on my 4th day of this liquid diet and I've already lost 6 pounds. I want to keep this momentum going, but I know it won't be at this weight loss rate. I just don't want to gain weight after I start eating solid food again. I'm aware that lap-band patients have a slower weight loss rate and I'm cool with that so long as I don't go backwards and continue moving forward.
