Heading for Surgery

Today is my 29th birthday. I leave tomorrow morning for Phoenix. My surgery is just 2 days away. NERVOUS- yes I am, but I know that I have a good surgeon and that I will especially be in the Lord's hands. He will watch over and protect me. I have heard so many good things about this surgery and seen so many awesome results. I know that I deserve to be happy & healthy. I am so excited to be able to do so many things that I can't do, or enjoy, now. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers! I write again when I come home from the beginning of my new healthy life!

Well, I have been sick for this past week. I'm scheduled for surgery on Wednesday, but if I am not completely better they will cancel it. Scheduling is already 2 months out. I really don't want to have to cancel, but at the same time- maybe it's meant to be... I definately don't want to have it done if I'm not completely better. I've had a sore throat for almost a week- some minor ear aches and a little stuffy/dry nose. My main problem though is my throat. I went to my PCP on Tuesday and he said that everything is ok just to take some coricidin HBP... oh yeah- my blood pressure has been spiking too- he said to be more concerned about my blood pressure than my throat. I have to go have the nurses check it again sometime tomorrow- the Dr upped my medication. I don't know what is going on- but I don't like it. My husband says that I just need to relax and not worry- my stress is probably making me sicker. I took a nap today and woke up with my throat hurting worse than before my nap.
My birthday is on Jan. 01... happy birthday to me! Sure would be nice to be able to have my surgery for my present. I just would hate to be sick again afterward... there is so much junk going around here... I guess the winter time in Az., or anywhere for that matter, isn't the best time to be having major surgery.
I'll just keep praying to get better. Wish me luck! God Bless!

I have just two more weeks before surgery. Surgery is scheduled for January 3rd- just 2 day's after my birthday- Happy Birthday to me! I am starting to feel like I might get a sinus cold. Went to my PCP yesterday and he said that everything looked good- to take benedryl at night and sudafed during day, maybe some mucinex. I took Benedryl last night at woke up this morning worse than I've felt all week. Maybe the benedryl is a bad idea. I don't know what to do. I see Dr. Simon on Monday so hopefully he'll be able to help. I just don't want to have to miss my surgery date- my parents, husband & myself have already all taken time off work & it works well for us. I'll just keep praying!!! Any suggestions for the protein liquid diet that I have to start 7 days pre-surgery would be great right now!
